Many of you will recognize me from our last ACC 2 announcement, where we revealed the first look of the new website. Others may remember me from way back in 2008 when I was part of the team at JUG. Whether this is your first interaction with me or the latest in a stream, let me properly introduce myself.
My name is Lauren. I first joined the site in 2007, and soon afterwards started working at JUG as a Landscaper. I eventually rose through the ranks as a Director, as well as becoming part of the ACC Staff as a Scout in 2008. I joined and led the SIC in 2010, and eventually became a developer in 2012. I remember the joy of waking up early before school just to see the latest that had occurred, the sadness the engulfed me when JUG closed, and the many many hours of helping people find their way as a Scout. I remember giving input to the Researcher and Developer badges, the wonder that came with updating the old ACC banners for the first time, and the hardships that came as dev work slowed down and became almost non-existant.
These last few years I've been working hard with Kate (GoldenCelebi) and David (ACWWFreakazoid) to make ACC 2 a reality. As many of you know, our current site is not well suited for today's world, and we've been working to add many of these to the new site: security, responsiveness and accessibility. We've also been creating expanded systems of the ones you can find on the site today - a Trading Post for all games, a Pattern Maker that can create QR codes, and (surprise!) a Bell Shop.
After 15 years on ACC, I reached out to jader earlier this summer about acquiring the site. Following much discussion, it was decided that Kate, David, Jari (Jarikira) and I would formally take over responsibility for operating ACC. To this end, Doumori LLC has been created to serve as ACC's owner. The company is legally owned by me, but all four of us will collaborate in administrative duties for ACC.
Over the next several weeks, we will be working with jader to transfer much of the site to our various accounts, concluding with the transfer of the server on November 30th. This means the site will be down for a few days while we ship the server and get it set up on our side. We'll be in contact via social media during this time, and are doing all we can to ensure the server remains safe in transit. We hope to have the site back up within days, and will keep a status page up with the latest information.
When the site comes back online, one of the biggest changes you'll notice is the removal of all ads. ACC will be operating solely on a donation basis going forward, and our bell system will continue to reward you for spending time on the site.
Going forward, we will also be posting annual financial reports, revealing the income (donations) coming into the site as well as where the money is going (server costs, development, account management, etc.). Our hope is to bring transparency to this and other processes to give the community a better understanding on what the staff is doing.
Over the numerous discussions I've had with my colleagues, we are committed to the spirit of ACC. No other major changes are planned, and we'll be working with the community to figure out a path forward. We've opened this thread with you so you may engage with us - please ask questions, throw out old jokes, congratulate us or join us for cake and ice cream while we celebrate.
I'm looking forward to serving ACC as one of its next owners.

Wow! Congratulations and best of luck with this new exciting chapter of ACC! I can't wait to see what you and the rest of the staff have planned for the site!
PS: I definitely remember you from the good ol' days of Johntown's Giveaway back in 2007. It's amazing how time passes by so quickly! I too have many fond memories of JUG and truly appreciate all that it did for the community here by laying the groundwork for so many others to enjoy doing their own giveaway work throughout the years.

Congrats Lauren! I'm sure there'll be many great things to come with you at the wheel.
I would also like to personally thank Jader for 20 years of service to ACC and for being a loyal and dedicated site owner. Whilst my activity on the site has dipped in recent years, I've always seen ACC as part of my life. I've met so many great people on here and spent a lot of time on here during my teen years. I must've clocked up hundreds of hours playing Animal Crossing games, and it's been great to have ACC to interact with other Animal Crossing enthusiasts and make playing the games more enjoyable.

Seconded. Thanks to Jader for creating such a wonderful site, and I'm excited to see where it goes from here!
Your vision and ideas that you laid out in your post all seem like a step in the right direction to me. I haven't been doing much on ACC other than logging in for years so it's great to see that something major is happening.

Feel the same way! Well said!

So excited to see what the future holds, but we are in great hands with not just you, but with the entire group. Much congrats to you, Lauren!! Can’t wait for some cake and ice cream!!! (what a throwback that is!!! )
And to Jader, as many others have said thank you. For putting up with me as a dumb kid, and allowing me to grow up here, both literally and figuratively. I remember deciding to step down as co-owner on my site a few years back, and it was probably one of the hardest things I have ever done.. I can only imagine how hard this is for you to do after decades of this. Seriously, thank you.

Also, thank you Jader for everything you’ve done to the site! So many years have flown by and the future of ACC will soon begin to fold, it was truly a pleasure seeing this site grow to what it is today because of you!! We will miss you dearly!
Looking forward to what the future holds for ACC!!

A massive thanks to Jader for the many years of ACC that we have all enjoyed. You're a legend.
