Newbie Player

Two weeks ago for my birthday I got a Nintendo Switch with Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and enjoyed playing that game. The console and game in question I have left in another state, but I still want to enjoy an immersive addition to the franchise. I recently tried playing playing Wild World on an online emulator, unfortunately; it was extremely laggy and there was no audio. I've been looking at copies of Animal Crossing: City Folk for the Wii recently, and wonder if it's any good for a player whose had a superior experience.

Many of the reviews online have said it's a good game for those just entering the series, but is an awful remake for anyone who's played anything like Wild World or the original. Is the game any fun for you long-time players? How immersive is it? Should I just buy the original?

Give me your opinion pls

Honestly, it's the same basic grind for any AC game you play.  Daily dig up fossils, identify them, turn them in or sell them, find your money rock and milk it for all the money you can, look at the store for anything special, talk to all your villagers, do some fishing, catch some bugs, save your game and come back tomorrow.  I mean, the formula really doesn't change much.

I will warn you in advance, though.  If you play City Folk, you WILL destroy all the grass in your town very quickly and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it except carpet the entire town with "fake grass" tiles.  I know this from personal experience.

Also, without having a softmodded Wii and an online service replacement such as Wiimmfi, you can forget about anyone visiting you or you visiting anyone else.

I tried City Folk a few months after picking up New Horizons last year and I honestly had a lot of fun with it! It was stressful for me to manage 2 different Animal Crossing saves at once, but it's a very charming game

I agree with the online reviews you read. One thing WW has over CF is better character dialogue + relationships (in CF they'll repeat their dialogue at the end of the dialogue tree each session instead of just saying something new) but if you couldn't get into WW because of technical issues and you're not too focused on decorating like NH then I'd recommend it!

If you're between the original and CF though that is a hard choice... but if you were concerned with lag then maybe CF is better for you lol

yes definitely, i love city folk myself, i've recently picked it up back in September and i love it. i missed the flea market and that's what i love about it.
the only problem is that villagers will pack up and leave town and you can't really convince them otherwise x, unless you have a real connection with them, then they will stay.
