I MISSED YOU TORT!
I want a new toy,....oi oi!
So I've played through a bit and I wanna give some of my thoughts of the big 2.0 update.
The Good +There are tons and tons of new items added into the game with so much new furniture variety. I've heard there's over 1700 new items, though its more like 9000+ with the variations. This was very much needed and will finally give us a significantly more variety when it comes to home and island design. +The return of Brewster and The Roost really puts a smile on my face, and I genuinely love that we can use amiibo here to bring anyone we want, including the NPC's we thought we'd never see in New Horizons like Gracie, Dr. Shrunk, and the pelican trio. +I really like that Harv has expanded and opened up a plaza featuring permanent shops for some visitors. It finally gives me more of a reason to go to Harv's Island. +Reese and Cyrus' new role of customizing the furniture we've been unable to was one thing I've been hoping for and I'm so happy they added it. +The addition of cooking is a very welcome addition and I do like that there are a ton of recipes for us. +Some of the QoL improvements are great, such as outdoor storage, outdoor ABD, and Isabelle announcing who's visiting. +The new camera tools makes taking pictures significantly more fun. That fisheye lens also has given us some pretty hilarious photos. +I love the new design options we've been given, such as ceiling fixtures, partition walls, columns, and counters. Plus there's the whole lighting and soundscapes. +I do feel like we have more villager interactions now, especially thanks to them finally being able to visit our homes. +Happy Home Paradise is a fun little expansion and I genuinely do enjoy designing homes based on the wishes of the villagers. +Another big thing I really love is that the cost of moving buildings has dropped significantly, making it easier to do. +I do like the new KK Slider songs added to the game. KK Bashment, KK Lovers, and Chillwave are probably my favorite songs out of the new ones. +The return group stretching is kinda a nice little daily activity for you to participate in. +The new reactions are actually kinda nice. My favorites are the behold emote, which is great for when you wanna make it look like you're taking a selfie. Then there's the hula dance. +Also, the return of Harriet is nice. I love her new look and I think its kinda sweet that she has joined Harv on his island. I personally like to imagine they're married now.
The Bad -I'm genuinely disappointed that it seems we can't work at The Roost. That's one of the biggest features I was hoping would return when I found out The Roost is coming back. -Seeing Kapp'n again is nice, but his purpose here is kinda meh...He'll take us to a random island once a day with unique crafting materials, but its kinda a let down because I was so excited when he was revealed, thinking he was gonna take us to something like Tortimer Island and we'd get the return of the island mini games. -It still really disappoints me that there are no items for Legend of Zelda, Pokemon, Metroid, Splatoon, and other iconic Nintendo franchises. Mario got his items back, so why haven't the other franchises?
Do you have any idea how that made me feel inside?
Furious! Outraged! FABULOUUUSSSS!!!!
