I'm so excited! I didn't expect the Direct so soon. The nice thing about this is it means we will have gotten some big Nintendo news 4 weeks running. 2 weeks ago was the Nintendo Direct. Last week we had Pokemon news. This week we got the Smash DLC reveal. Next is the Animal Crossing Direct.
Okay. Onto the Direct. The fact that its 20 minutes tells us this is a very substantial update. We know there's more to this than Brewster's return. When it comes to Brewster, I'm sure they'll spend a few minutes to tell us about the cafe and HOPEFULLY that we can work at the cafe. With Brewster coming back, its likely we'll hear that Gyroids are also returning.
In terms of safe guesses, I think we're going to see a batch of new or returning villagers. With amiibo series 5 coming out, I can't see them doing this to add 14 new cards. They're likely gonna bring back some of the older villagers from the original games, or possibly create new villagers to add to the amiibo card pack. New furniture is also pretty likely. I do hope they'll add a few new series because we could use some new tables, chairs, beds, ect. I can also see them adding even more emotes. I could see some QoL improvements we've all been asking for potentially.
The biggest thing I want though is something that gives us new daily activities to do. I really want to see the island minigames return, but just some other kind of activity would be nice. Just some fun extra activity to keep us busy. I would really love some new features that just give us new interactions with out villagers. Stuff from past games like villager visits or more favors. Just anything to give us more reason to talk to them and not hear them cycle through 4 pieces of dialog.
Do you have any idea how that made me feel inside?
Furious! Outraged! FABULOUUUSSSS!!!!
Oh yeah, I had already mentally blocked off the paid DLC as a separate thing since I'm not planning on buying it. There are a couple of things in it that interest me but not enough to justify the cost (I felt the same way about Happy Home Designer).
