Hi I am new to ACC forum. I am looking for a few things. I have spent a small fortune flying to islands looking for cherry trees and orange trees. I have coconuts, apples, peaches and pears. I have no idea how this all works. I have also had no luck finding the island with exotic flowers or island with fish like a shark. I appreciate any help or guidance!

every town has a native fruit and a sister fruit. your native fruit is the one you find on your main island. your sister fruit is the one you can find on one specific nook miles island. your mom should mail you a third type of fruit. the last two can only be obtained from trading, so you will not find cherries or oranges from visiting random islands. here is the NH trading board. it shouldn't be too hard to find people willing to give you fruit for free on there

the two islands with hybrid flowers were removed from game unfortunately, so you won't find those. not sure why they got rid of them.

shark island can only be found during the months that sharks are in season, so unless your town is set to summer, you won't find that one either.

There is a very handy app called "ACNH Travel Guide" (it has a tree in its logo) that I use. It is an EXCELLENT app, and has lots of information about (most) everything pertaining to island life.

Also, if you'd like some exotic flowers, my island is comfletely overrun by them, so feel free to come by and take some off my hands.
