Honestly, at this point I would pay money in order to get some of the things we have been asking. I think that is the most realistic way we are going to get them .
I would like:
- unbreakable tools - unlimited storage?? - faster build times (moving buildings and bridges/inclines) - perhaps cheaper build times? - easier way to get villagers you want (that's another topic of us having to choose villagers via ascetics and not personality though..) - bulk crafting
While we're on the topic, I think some things that should be added as free updates are:
- more NPCs and events (including NEW ones, not from previous titles) - more clothing options - a LOT more furniture options and series (like brining back all the old series, and more new series) - more villager dialogue/distinguishable personalities - more multiplayer/mini-game versatility - more places to go with the aircraft - more variety in mystery islands
What do y'all think? What would you want in either category?
I paid money to purchase the switch & the game & the nintendo online thing & some amiibo cards. If I have to pay for anything else for this game I'll probably stop playing because this game is getting a little pricey imo.
All I want are the items I keep seeing in Pocket Camp. That's all I want. The items in that mobile game are glorious and beautiful and I don't play Pocket Camp because I mainly use my phone as a phone and not a game console. If they can give me the items from Pocket camp I think I'll be satisfied.
I've stopped caring that things break and I have to run home to get craft supplies and that my villagers are more useful at my Island news than Isabelle is etc etc etc. I've reached defeat, just let me decorate with pretty items
What AC:WW taught me: Always carry a clean cup with you~
I agree - at this point I would be willing to pay for extras as it's the only game I really play since buying my switch!
I would like....
- More furniture sets / DIY series - More regular events - The ability to grow something other than pumpkins - The ability to buy regular wood because I'm that lazy! - The ability to terraform in bulk (like lay more paths / cliffs in one go) - Bulk crafting
I could go on! But I do love the game!

They really should've allowed you to pay $1.99 or $2.99 for villagers from the eshop, and have them move in. It's no more or less ethical than the amiibo cards, and it'd save on plastic and be more accessible for folks to purchase. Last year, Nintendo kept cracking down on the counterfeit amiibo cards on Etsy; that should've been a sign there was a market.
Other than that, I don't really know what all they could sell as DLC. Clothes/furniture would have to be untradeable somehow, which isn't so great.
I just can't imagine AC going the DLC route, I don't even see how it would work because let's say there is a special furniture set that you can only get via paid DLC, someone could very easily get it for free if their friend just sends them the furniture unless of course Nintendo puts in a block that prevents exactly that. Plus I feel like if we had to pay for more features, the newer AC fans would cause a war on twitter and Nintendo would probably say something along the lines of "wE mIsSeD tHe MaRk" and possibly make it free. Who knows.
What do I do
with all of these
They said they'd have DLC, but what they meant was the free updates and I kind of despise they didn't use the word UPDATES, they said DLC. It was misleading, even before the game came out. I like the free updates, although idg why the holidays are given to us through updates instead of just being there like every other game, but I like that the buyable items in the ABD are the style of fancy regional items you use to get from NL where they'd send them for holidays and stuff. Because the only real form of DLC we got was the Bell bag rug... or the leaf rug idk which one now but either way it was like this is it???
I would honestly like to see any of the video game consoles back where you could actually play on them, maybe throw a few new ones in there. Though I'm not holding out too much hope for this one due to the advent of the virtual console.
We are all just chilling.
Like an antagonist of some sort.
The only thing that would make sense as paid DLC to me is if they offer an option to create more than 1 island per Switch. So like offering the option to pay $20 to create a separate island on another profile, I think that would be a smart move. Not necessary for all players, but could be very useful to some households. But I think content should all be free

what i'd want more than anything is 100 design spaces instead of 50, probably the only thing i'd pay for. but like thewildshadow55 said, i hope this game doesn't go down the dlc route.
i would love free updates that includes that as well as:
> the old furniture series from every other game (green, blue, lovely, classic, regal, cabin, cabana, kiddie, etc. it was so weird that they removed these.) also the rococo series which was so beautiful. > more furniture series in general? it seems like acnh is full of decoration items but not enough furniture series. not including seasonal series, new horizons only has 6 furniture sets, whereas new leaf had 30 (also not including seasonal ones). > lots of the shirts from the older games that were also removed > hairstyles and eyes from the older games (and the dirty blonde hair color from new leaf pretty please) - the ability to choose between any color variation of nook miles furniture items, instead of having a random color variation set to your town. or just the ability to customize the items into other variations. they probably won't change this though, since the game can't be made too easy. - maybe the ability to put a tree right at the edge of a river/cliff/bridge corner? this would solve quite a few problems in my town. i figured if we could now put bushes anywhere, then trees could at least hit rivers and cliffs. - new bridge options that only cover the water (like in the older games) instead of taking up land space at the corners. - bridges, inclines, and built-in path designs that match each other. - the ability to upgrade your house a bit more. i would love to have full-size side rooms, or maybe if those rooms could be made rectangular as well! but they probably can't add this since so many users have already unlocked free exterior remodeling since they completed their debt, so more upgrades would be unfair or confusing. - the ability to move resident services (my town design would be saved if i could just move it down one space) • the roost • KAPP'N • nook's cranny upgrades pls pls plsssss i just need them to sell wallpaper and flooring ~ more villager dialogue (i think they've been adding more gradually, but convos are still pretty repetitive, short, and bland.)
i can see them adding the roost but i'm not sure if they'll end up adding kapp'n. when i first got the game i thought the dock existed for him, just like in gc and nl, but i think they would've added him by now if they were planning to, like they did with crazy redd. though i'm not sure why they'd have kapp'n as a switch profile pic option if they don't plan on putting him in the game. i also really miss the pelican characters, copper and booker, and gracie grace. i don't think the pelicans or the cops will be making a comeback since all their roles are already filled, but maybe if they introduce nook's cranny upgrades then gretchen grunch can have a permanent spot in their store again.
of all of these ideas, i think the roost is the most likely addition since that's what fans have been asking for the most. i'm still counting on nintendo for those extra pattern spaces though
i also wish i could move huge sections of items/paths/terraformed places in bulk, but that's too idealistic for animal crossing.
edit: i also hope that the next dialogue update includes dialogue that makes snooty villagers more, well, snooty. i still can't tell them apart from uchi villagers.
I'm glad I'm not alone. I did the exact same thing. I got to thinking about how it showed flooring and wallpaper in the shop window and looked a little harder, I guess. Couldn't believe I had missed that.
Oh and I agree mostly with the OP. Furniture should be in the game. I really hope they don't go down the dlc road though. I think I've paid all I'm going to at this point.
Oh yeah I didn't mean paid DLC either, I meant more like they start giving out single items or random packs of things, like how they did when the game came out, in the first week when they had the nook rug to download for your ABD. If they made you pay for DLC I'd probably consider but it would have to be a good pack
The only feature that I think Nintendo could justify being paid DLC would be the ability to have a 2nd island on the same Switch. Normally, we'd have to buy another Switch system to have another island. And in some previous AC games, you only had to buy another copy of the game (NL, WW), or just another memory card (GameCube) to make another town.
