So, I hate my island, I don't want to reset cause of my progress and villagers, but the decoration, just, no . I've gotten bored of my theme, but I'm so uncreative that idk what to do, too poor to move homes and get all the fancy furniture and stuff also, what do I do?

1 hour behind ACC time!
One thing I don't like about New Horizons is I feel that the focus of the game has turned to decoration and that's now how it used to feel, at least for me. I personally have been really slow with my decorating, so slow that my town is pretty much empty. If you feel stressed out by decorating, you can always work towards your museum or make designs! If you need money, you can always catch bugs and fish (I've found that I make more money diving for sea creatures ), and this way you also increase your chances of catching something new. I'm not sure if you're like me and are active on the acnh side of social media, but seeing decoration posts by others can be either a blessing or a curse. Don't let them discourage you by making you think that your decorating is boring and sucks. It's best to use it as inspiration for what you could do for your island.
Just don't wear yourself too thin worrying about how your town looks, find fun in other places! I do wish they would allow a lot of villager interaction in the game, like having us do more tasks for them and give better dialog, that way I would care less about decorating. I do appreciate the new decorating freedom that NH has, though.
You can’t always see the light at the end of the tunnel,
but if you keep moving, you will come to a better place.
Yeah, I'm in the same boat. Hate the new decorating feature. I have no creativity, and just want my island to be basic and natural.... like all the other games (but mostly like the GC version). Right now I just have junk flung in mostly random places, in an effort to get the 5 stars and get the gold can DIY, simply because I'm a "completionist". After that, everything is going back to natural.
My real-life time is the same as ACC's
