I honestly hate the fact all tools break, it's so frustrating to me and I'm kind of upset over the fact many of the old NPC's jobs were taken by objects, for examples, Harriet is now just a mirror, and Pelly, Phyllis, and Pete just turned into a post card stand.

1 hour behind ACC time!
I think the thing that bugs me the most is the limit on ordering stuff from the catalogue. you can only order 5 items a day, and they arrive the next day. in the original game, you could order 10 things at once, and they'd show up at the next 9am or 5pm. in later games there either wasn't a limit, or the limit was much higher and I never hit it
when designing a new area, I like to order all the furniture I might want at once, then sell anything I didn't end up using. now I have to strategically order 5 items and sometimes I end up having to bug my friends by ordering stuff for them as gifts and asking them to mail it back to me to work around the limit. even then, I can only order two things per friend, so if it's a really big makeover I end up bugging loads of friends.
I super appreciate the people that put up with me for this

Agreed. Had the gold tools been unbreakable, I wouldn't have minded. But them being so hard to get, and gold being relatively rare, it's not worth it if they break anyway.
I'm also disappointed by NPC's being replaced by other mechanics. I get that the island is deserted, but as we build it up, I expected other shops to move in. Or to eventually have access to another island full of shops through Dodo Airlines. I LOVED the main street in NL and city in CF.
Another thing I dislike about NH is the lack of things to do. We've been spoiled by NL with all the shops and NPC's, Tortimer's Island and interactions with our villagers (hide and seek, visiting each others homes, etc.).

I miss a lot of the classic AC; the series has changed a lot in ~20 years. I wish there was more incentive to talk with my villagers; they always say something boring and short and rarely give me any kinds of tasks. I grew up playing WW and the villagers always had something for me to deliver or something wacky to say. I do like that we have the freedom to customize our town, but that seems to have become the focus of the game rather than actual life in the town. I also miss the classic characters and items. They got rid of the gyroids, like why? I'd love to place those weird things all over my island. And with characters, everyone is missing Brewster, but I imagine he'll come out in an update eventually. I would like back the pelican gang and Kapp'n, too.
You can’t always see the light at the end of the tunnel,
but if you keep moving, you will come to a better place.
Getting recipes. For example - I have shot down so many balloons this month (every day), but I barely have any mushroom recipes and I haven't found a maple leaf one. I've actually received the same item twice - loft bed with desk.
Overall, the repetitiveness of recipes along with the overall repetitiveness of dialogue, items in the shop, etc., is starting to turn me off from the game. I can't believe I'm saying that as I love this franchise. But we are 2 days away from winter, and I also don't have all the acorn recipes. Yet I've received kettlebell 20 times. I have very little free time to play, and I can't visit other people. Beyond frustrated.
Not being able to get all the items without trading. Collecting items and decorating with them is my favorite part of the game, after all. I specifically mean the town-exclusive colors for Nook Miles items.
Normally I wouldn't mind, if the trades were like, reasonable. But the trading economy got ridiculous very quickly. I got all my fruits the first night the game came out, and people were being reasonable (trading a town fruit for a town fruit). However, not long after I saw people say things like, "Pears are my native fruit. I'll trade you one for 30,000 bells." What? It's your native fruit, so you can get them for free right off your own trees, and they sell for 100 bells each. You can buy them from your shop for 400 bells each. Yet you expect someone to pay 30,000 bells? I don't think that's right.
There’s a lot I dislike about New Horizon, probably more than in any other AC title I’ve played...
- Tools breaking. I hate it and golden tools are pointless. - Seasonal DIY’s only spawning in balloons. I can never find any of the DIY’s. I’d rather just have them as paid DLC if they’re gonna make them so hard to obtain. - RNG spawning rates. That fact that I spent 3hr trying to find a Dungeness crab the other day is atrocious. - Villager dialogue. If there’s one thing I hate more than tools breaking its getting the same conversation with a villager for the 20th time that day. - Villagers personality or lack there of. Villagers are boring, they don’t feel dynamic. What happened to them asking us to do chores, visit their homes or playing mini games? -Crafting. No bulk crafting. Not being able to search for a specific item in the list of DIY’s. Having to carry bunches of resources and a crafting table with you where ever you go. Having to grind for those resources. As a whole I just hate the crafting system and wish it would do one! - Unlocking DIY’s. The fact that I got the three orange clock DIYs within one week yet I still haven’t seen the garden bench really bugs me. - Turnip prices changing twice a day. If you’re someone like me who can only get on once a day you’re gonna struggle figuring out what sort of price pattern your turnips have for that week. - 5 item order limit. In a game that is about decorating why are they limiting us on the decorations we can buy!! More to the point, why did they halve it from the 10 item order limit in previous games!

I 100% agree! Balloon farming is awful. It's not fun to do at all, but if you want any season recipes you HAVE to farm. I get so frustrated when I'm farming and then a balloon skips and doesn't appear for another 10 minutes. It's infuriating. I can't stand spending hours doing it, just to hardly find any recipes at all. The way Halloween recipes were given out by villagers crafting was perfect, I really don't understand why that isn't how all seasonal recipes are done? They need to be easier to obtain. I'm hardly finding anything new from bottles on the beach, so why not make that an option? I understand the game is meant to be played for years and maybe they intend players to get a few recipes each year, but that's ridiculous. The fall recipe I wanted most was my second-to-last recipe I found and took DAYS to find.
I'm absolutely dreading farming for the winter recipes and I might just buy them off of Nookazon for whatever ridiculous prices people are asking.

I've had villagers tell me that they won Hide and SSeek playing by themselves, but it wasn't much fun. Why can't they ask us to play with them?! I liked playing Hide and Seek with my villagers!
The only gold tool I can make is the Slingshot, but what's the point if it breaks? Those gold nuggets aren't rare, but they are still hard to come by them.
Why are we only getting the Fall diy's through just balloons? Other ones were the villagers and the bottles on the beach as well.
I miss having my villagers popping in to visit.
Why are we stuck with just one color scheme for certain items? Trading can be very stressful. There are alot of greedy people out there, man.
Repeat DIY recipes. I swear I've recieved some recipes more than 4-5 times and it's ridiculous! If my sister or my niece or her daughters don't need them, I've just gotten used to selling them. Such a waste of my time.
ACCWWFreakazoid. I feel you! I just pulled at one forgetting that the flowerss only give up their petals unless you dig up the whole plant! Every once in awhile i have to purge the over abundance of my flower beds. Some days I run to the store to sell, but if it's alot, I put a trash bin in my pockets to get rid of them when it's too far from the store.
Forgot that I also have the gold watering can DIY but haven't made one for some time. Don'r need one right now.
-The lack of items. They took out so many items & have yet to bring back a lot of old sets that I miss. *cough* evil scientist lair set & Gracie's princess set *cough cough*
-Those pesky town specific colored items. If I'm a DIY crafter and I can recolor certain things then why can't Cyrus call me via Nookphone and send me an app to teach me how to paint the items I want? I shouldn't have to hunt for items. This is supposed to be a relaxing game. This game already make you do that with the balloons!!!
-We need mini-games!!! When this game was introduced it was boasting how you can have 8 players on an island playing together. There's really nothing to do when you visit other people's islands :c
-Let me store my trees/flowers in my storage. Why can't we do this?!?!?
we haven't completed a year yet in game so I'm still hopeful about some changes
What AC:WW taught me: Always carry a clean cup with you~
As GCorpCrown said, this is supposed to be a relaxing game, but I find it anything but. I appreciate that I can take a break for a week without returning to an entire island of dead or wilted flowers -- big improvement -- but having to grind so much for everything else just doesn't seem worthwhile. As I get older and have less time for gaming, it no longer seems worthwhile to dump so much time into this game.
I hate the lack of dialogue in this game. It's not as fun to log on and only talk to them like... two times and it's the same stuff over and over again.
I would never put Wild World down and with NH I will literally put it down for weeks...MONTHS... and not care enough to come back to it. I don't know. It just isn't one of my favorite games anymore and I honestly like to play my DS more.
There was no pleasure like being envied on a mass scale.
-The music is among the worst in the series. -The generic furniture is boring and uninspired. -The flower mechanics suck. -The villagers being soulless husks of their former selves. -The Able Sister's store not labeling what you already own -Not being able to buy multiple colors of clothing at the same time at The Able Sisters
Balloon grinding, though, has to be the absolute worst feature in this game. I hate it. Spending 15 hours of my life on the off chance of getting one recipe I don't have, and not just a duplicate recipe? Haha, try again loser. The crappy thing about the balloon exclusive DIYS, is that they're the only interesting furniture in the game, so of course you want them. They could increase the spawn rate, but why do that when you can just wait 3 months for an update that adds in old features that aren't as good as they used to be.
Balloon grinding is ridiculous. Why do we only get seasonal items through balloons when before we got them through the bottles and villagers as well before the fall update? Or am I imagining that? It seemed that I was getting seasonal items from my neighbors and wel as the balloons and the bottle on the beach. I didn't get all of the fall items nor the maple leaf items which means I'm going to have to TT back to get them and I'm not looking forward to hours of searching for balloons.
^I'm pretty sure the seasonal things have always been balloon exclusive. assuming you're in the northern hemisphere it might've seemed like that wasn't the case because young spring bamboo items were exclusively from balloons, but regular bamboo items come from villagers. also there were only 8 summer shell items (now 9 with the rug added last update). 5 of those are walls and floors, and Isabelle gives you the shell wreath in the morning announcements, so it wasn't hard to get all the good ones. the other shell DIYs are not seasonal. then there are the cherry blossom DIYs which are definitely balloon exclusive
the halloween DIYs came from both villagers and balloons but they're different because they were event items
basically it just seems like it changed because the fall and winter DIYs are actually good and there's a lot of them

I do not like that terraforming and outdoor decoration has almost been treated like a band-aid for missing features. I think a lot of people raise extremely valid concerns about how the game feels unfinished and is lacking a decent amount of content from prior games that could be considered fundamental. But a lot of times, these valid concerns are considered "whining" from other players, who point out how customizable this game is compared to others, and how it adds such a massive and entirely new feature to the series. Almost like it justifies the lack of content in other areas of the game. Maybe this would be a more justifiable reason if the game wasn't in development pretty much since New Leaf released in Japan in 2012. I could excuse the lack of content and polish if they only had a two or three-year development window.
The problem is, this new feature has so much missed potential and feels extremely unpolished. Yes, we can craft, but we can't do it in bulk and can't pull resources directly from storage while crafting. Yes, we can move all buildings aside from seaport and RS, but we can't simply shift things a few tiles over or cancel a plot placement the same day it is placed. Yes, we can terraform and place paths, but only one square at a time, and rounding out edges and corners takes a full extra step. Yes, you can decorate in a vast space outside, but only with the restrictive color variants per island and in a very slow process since you can only order five items per day from your catalog.
I'm just tired of Nintendo expecting us to jump for joy every time a feature from an old game is added back in and branded as "new content" just because it hasn't been in the game yet. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad old features have slowly been added back in because it keeps the game fresh and interesting, but this wasn't really how I expected the update model to roll out. I was figuring updates would add in new furniture and recipes periodically (like Pocket Camp). Maybe once we are a year in and all holidays are added in, the updates can focus on new content and quality of life changes because they are extremely needed at this point.
I never really considered how jobs were taken over by machines. Thinking back to Pelly in Wild World gives me a nostalgic feeling. Now there isn't even a post office.. That kinda makes me more sad than I thought it would
One of my biggest annoyances is that you can only buy one item at a time whilst in the Able Sisters. That drives me INSANE and makes me only want to buy one of each item. It's so annoying, and it is something I really thought they would patch in the first update. Alas, they have not
As something from the players perspective, I dislike how many people are getting bored of it so quickly. I never experienced how quickly people got bored of the game with the likes of Wild World and New Leaf. It's such a shame, and doesn't bode well for the future of NH
