I'm trying to make a custom flag for my island. I've got an image saved but when I use the online code creator, it comes out blurred and unreadable. What size, format, etc. do I create my image in that I am able to create a good clean qr code. How many "colors"? I have my image set at 16 but it looks like crap when I code it. What's a good qr code creator to use?
the QR code creators are extremely limited because NL's pattern creating tools are very limited (and yes even if it's advertised as a tool for NH, you are still limited to NL's colour palette bc the QRs can only be created from NL patterns)
for best results, make sure your original image is square, even better if it is exactly 32x32 pixels. the fewer colours, the better. when making your original image, using a colour picker to pick colours from NLs colour swatches will give you better results as well
if you have any text in your pattern, you'll have an easier time looking up tiny pixel fonts and copying them by hand, rather than relying on a QR generator
at the end of the day, all these QR generators are going to be imperfect since an algorithm doesn't know what looks good or bad, it just follows the instructions it was programmed with. they tend to be best suited for converting photos with minimal detail, since photos are harder to replicate by hand from scratch. if your image is a bold graphic design, you might be better off making it in game by hand.
