I want to know if there's any way I can address this. I know most of you probably won't believe me, but I've literally done everything. I've left actual screens full of trash on my island for months, I've gone to Nook Mile Adventure islands and cut down all the trees/flowers and left nothing but trash and rotting turnips. I've gone to islands where people claim to always have flies. I am at my actual wit's end and I'm genuinely convinced my game is broken. I can not find a fly. Anywhere. Ever. They don't spawn. I get ants for days, but not a fly in sight. Is there literally no one else this has happened to? I get the same advice everywhere I go and it just doesn't make sense. I've time traveled to all times of the year, I've spent an in-game equivalent of thousands of days on my island with garbage as far as the eye can see and they Just. Won't. Spawn. Please tell me there is some sort of in-game glitch about this, something, ANYTHING. I'm at 79/80 bugs and I just can't fathom why it's not working. Please someone help me.

I put trash down on the beach of 1 tire, 1 can, and 1 boot. twice I've seen the fly but it disappears so fast, I haven't been able to catch it. Just yesterday I took the trash off my beach and sold it. I'll try again with a new piece of trash, but maybe I'll have to find a trash island to catch that wily fly!

While I don't have a miracle of an idea, I'll just share what worked for me in the end. It was placing a single tire off to the right of Nooks (the building I enter and exit out of the most) and checking it right before I would go in and right after I exited. I don't know if it matters but I put it as far away from Nooks as I could while still having it in view of the door.

I think it took me 3 days and dozens of round trips.

From what I have seen, putting down tons of items versus a few or even a single piece of trash doesn't seem to produce any better results for the most part.
