Hello! I try not to time travel but I have a few villagers I am do not want in my town anymore. For example: Harry. He annoys me so much ( sorry to whoever loves him lol). Does anyone have any tips on how to get rid of a villager. Any suggestions would be wonderful!

I appreciate your help!

when you start up the game for the first time in a day, and you see a villager you like and want to keep with the thought bubble over their head (and you haven't seen them without it yet today) wait around for the save icon to appear before you talk to them. if they ask about moving, quit without saving and avoid talking to them the rest of the day. the next day the game will choose a different villager to move out*. repeat each day until a villager you don't like has the thought bubble (you don't have to wait for the save if you want them gone because you won't be quitting without saving)

*it's possible that no new villager will be chosen the next day to move, especially if it hasn't been very long since your last move-out or the last time you saved after declining a move-out. the longer it's been since either of those things happened last, the more likely you'll get a new villager asking the next day

every day since the last move-out/move-out request, the chance somebody asks to move will increase. if you tell someone no, this counter resets and the chances are low that someone will ask to move out, plus there's a 5 day cool-down where nobody will ask (it's a 15 day cool-down if you let them move). if you use this trick, you skip the cool-down and the counter keeps going up, so you get new requests faster

Chiyoko Thank you so much for the information! I have read it can take 14 days for someone to request to move out again but I will try this method! I truly appreciate your help!

I think 14 days is roughly how long it seems to take on average, just sort of a guesstimate number. according to ninji on twitter, who looked into the datamine of the game to get this info, the chance someone asks to move out is based on this formula:

(Vx5)+C = % chance someone asks to move out

V=how many villagers you have, so if you have 10 villagers, it's 50+C = %

C=how many days since a villager asked to move last. C maxes out at 30

nobody will ask if it's been less than 5 days since you told someone no, or less than 15 days since you told someone yes. so assuming you have 10 villagers and last time someone asked you said no, the chance someone asks to move starts at 55% and increases 1% a day until 30 days later at 80%. you could potentially get real unlucky and take over a month before you get a new request

BUT THE POINT IS, doing the thing I explained avoids C getting reset, so that percentage stays high

I hit Shari with a net and she got angry and then moved out the next day.

It's kind of messed up to hit them but it seemed to work for me lol
