I still haven't seen any shooting stars on my island. When should be I be looking for them? What time? Can I expect them when Celeste is visiting? I was undef the impression that Isabelle would announce a meteor shower if one is to take place. I also read that the villagers will talk about how the sky is clear when shooting stars will appear.

Shooting stars will appear after 7PM! Don't actually know how late they go but I imagine all the way up till 4-5am. If Isabelle announces a meteor shower or you heard your villagers talking about seeing shooting stars that night (Isabelle doesn't always announce a shower) you can 100% expect stars that night! If you log on after 7 and it's cloudy wait till the next hour as stars only appear when its clear! Otherwise you should see plenty when its announced!

Celeste can also visit even if your villagers/Isabelle don't talk about a shower. When she visits there should still be shooting stars, but they'll just be quite rare and very infrequent. I had her visit once and I found her at 7 but didn't notice any stars until 11pm! I also found even with no Celeste very rarely you can get one or two shooting stars that'll fly by!

As for finding them they'll appear regardless of where you are on your island! If you hear a little twinkle sound look up with the right joystick and press A holding no tools and you should wish on the star!

First time Celeste visited, I caught her wishing on a star and that's how I was able to get a few. Now, I keep tabs on her. It can take a long time to get any shooting stars unless there is a meteor shower. I haven't had one on my own island, but I was able to go to another player's island when they had a meteor shower.

I've been playing every day since launch, and I just got my first meteor shower last Saturday night! A friend of mine got the game a few days early and has been playing every day since and has still never gotten one. It's crazy how bad the RNG is in this game.

Anyway, you can get a few shooting stars here and there on clear nights. It doesn't matter if Celeste is visiting or not. When I got my one meteor shower, Isabelle announced it in the morning but Celeste didn't show up. Celeste did show up earlier in the week, though.

According to Ninji's Datamining, Celeste can only appear once a week on some specific sunny weather condition (4 of the 6 available).

I personally visit other peoples places for celeste or stars. I heard 40 wishes is the general rule of thumb on your own island. 20 wishes if it's someone elses. I don't time travel so if celeste shows when I pick up a diy early from someone else's then it doesn't let me pick up another. It seems to cap at one recipe per day if you are not TTing.
