Welcome to the world of Animal Crossing! So exciting that its your first game I want to mention a couple things that I learned while figuring out the shooting stars myself: -You can get shooting stars on any "clear" night, but Isabelle will tell you in her daily announcements whether there will be a meteor shower that night. On meteor shower nights, there will be TONS of shooting stars! On nights where they randomly appear, there will only be a few. -You can hear the shooting stars as they're going by. I know that I get impatient and want to walk around during meteor shower nights, so you don't have to stand still in order for them to appear. You'll hear a twinkling sound and that's when you'll know it's a shooting star! Then, you can do what others have said: push the right joystick up to see the sky and hit "A", and you'll make a wish! -Make sure you're not holding any tools while you're wishing on shooting stars! Otherwise it won't count as a "wish" -The star fragments that wash up on the beach the next day, come in throughout the day. You probably could have discovered that on your own, but I was surprised the first time when I picked up all my star fragments in the morning, and then saw more washed up on the beach later in the day!
