Ever since I got settled into new horizons and began getting "bored" of all the crafting, I've been considering replaying the older games. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love NH but a lot of stuff is lacking. Maybe it's just nostalgia pulling at me, but I'm about to break out the GameCube once my controller comes in the mail. Am I the only one who feels this way? Or are you completely satisfied with NH?

I tried revisiting the older games a couple of years ago, after having tired of New Leaf, and that didn't work out very well for me - the quality-of-life improvements have just kept racking up, and for me that makes it too difficult to go back to not having them.
I think the original Gamecube music was the best and just created the most relaxing atmosphere for the game, I see what you mean. At some point in NH when you get most of the major stuff done and access all the customization options I feel you hit the "just need to check in" phase. I'm close to that point. I have to start renovating the island, seriously decorate my house and start visiting or having people visit. Most of the people on my friends list never seem to open their gates or visit when I have mine open.
"I love the power glove. It's so bad."
I revisit my Wild World game once every 5-6 months I think? The game was there for me at a meaningful point in life, so it has become a habit. But my ACNH island has been relaxing and engaging enough so far. There are definitely features in previous games that I wish were here though!
