It's not really a big deal, but I always enjoyed saving the farewell letters villagers would send me whenever they moved away in previous games.  It's a little reminder of the history of my towns.  But I'm a bit disappointed this time around how two of my neighbors have moved away and neither of them have sent farewell letters, leaving me to speculate that they don't do that anymore.

That’s a bummer. I would do the same, save all the farewell letters at the post office as a sort of town record.  Hopefully photos are still around to substitute. It’s been over a month since I started hitting best friend status with some villagers, and haven’t gotten one yet.

Yeah I realized this when Bertha moved out. Like you saying goodbye was enough in person, so why send a letter and harp on it? I always thought it was a little redundant but at the same time I liked that it gave a kind of confirmation "Okay Bertha is gone". Nope not this time lol

Wow I didn't think about this until you mentioned it... You're right. I miss that.

Gotta admit I was fairly bummed when I realized Hazel had moved and I hadn't received a letter from her.
She was one of two of my starter islanders so it was a bummer to not have a last farewell message.
