As it stands now, I'm planning to carry a 2.4 million Bell debt to my death.  

The reward for paying this crazy sum off is 'unlimited free style changes' to your house.   These changes normally cost 5000 bells.    Therefore I'd have to want to change my house look 480 times to make it worth paying this thing off.  

If the devs ever peek into forums -- yeah.... that's a gap.   There needs to be something worth paying this thing off for.    I guess unless you are trying to teach all of us that carrying large amounts of debt is a good thing.  

You are totally right, now I wish I had never paid it off. Lol. But I didn't know about the unlimited exterior changes until after I had already paid it off....

Yeah I have plenty enough to pay it, but Im in no hurry at all. Not seen very many people who worry about that final one. lol

For some people, it’s worth it just to live out the fantasy of being debt free. But seriously, I don’t think every milestone needs to have a tangible reward to be worth reaching. That said, the free renovations is at least something. Even if you’ll never get your moneys worth, I found not having to pay for the option got me to experiment a lot more than I would have otherwise. I wasn’t even interested in using the feature until I got it for “free”.

All in all, I like it better than the flagpole.

I wonder if maybe in a future update they will add room expansions like we had in CF.  I've been holding off on adding too much furniture for now so I don't have to move everything multiple times.  I've paid half of the last room off, almost done saving for the second half then going to start saving bells to upgrade bridges.

i know your only jessing about the extortionate amount but i tell you how i see it - animal crossing is the one place in this world i can actually afford to do anything! that's my incentive

I feel like (hope??) they plan to add the Happy Home Academy (HHA) office with Lyle, Lottie, and Digby to the game later on. We know the HHA is in the game as they evaluate our houses every week. Maybe the office will come back sometime?

I never see it mentioned in lists of update wants, but I would absolutely love to see them bring back the office and let us buy further expansions, unlock more exterior options, and maybe unlock the ability to choose the size and shape of our side rooms, upstairs, and basement (main room, too!)? Maybe even add in the Distance Learning classes from Happy Home Designer so we can unlock ceiling furniture placement and other options? I know Pocket Camp has Lottie giving classes.

I paid off my final loan earlier this week. It's so nice having it done. Plus, I'm ready to go if they do add in further expansions. Again, this is just my opinion (hope?!), but I feel like the reward being so lackluster hints at there being more. I really love Lyle, Lottie, and Digby and hope they come back! I would love to see them do a virtual Happy Home Showcase (maybe you could access it by talking to Digby?) and let us order items from other people's homes/islands, too! And bring back the balloons, ice cream cones, pinwheels, etc. you could get from Digby and the Showcase.

Saving 5k per design is nothing. Besides I usually keep the design I have for ages once I find one I like.

Granted I'm far from the last loan still. I just got my right room done so now I own around 758k (I believe.)

I decided I would pay it back...5K per day I play.



I have taken the money I would have otherwise used to pay it off and just stuck it in with my savings. That way if they do present an update that incentivizes paying it off fully I'll only be a day behind whatever that is.
