I found out I crossbred a purple mum. The thing is every guide I can find says you can only get them with white mums and I have no white mums planted.

I had originally planted red and yellow mums together thinking maybe there were orange mums. Anyways I only ended up getting more red and yellow and didn't move them all right aways now a few days ago I also get a purple mum.

This means there has to be another way to get purple mums. The thing is I'm not sure what the combination is yet. It could be red + red, yellow + yellow, or red + yellow.

I definitely plan to try and figure this out but if anyone already knows how and would like to post it that's more than welcome.

according to the datamined flower guide I've been going off of, red+yellow mums breed genetically distinct yellow mums, and two of those genetically distinct yellow mums have a 25% chance of breeding purple mums. purple mum's bred this way are also genetically distinct from the ones bred using white mums, so if you got two purple mums the way you did, you could breed them for a 25% chance of the rare green mums

I actually made a purple mum just like this by accident. Up until I got lief yesterday I only had a single white mum and got a purple nowhere near that white.

Chiyoko Nice. So kind of like the special pansies or special roses? Wish this info was made more well known. I  figured it seemed odd to not have a combination using yellow mums. But also remember yellow violets were never used for crossbreeding either. So figured it was possible. (At least up until I got purple without a white.

So does this mean other purple mums (ones from white flowers) will never get you green mums? Or is it just a lower chance?

Sphithix I recently bought some white mums discovering afterwards that I already bought some and couldn't decide where to plant them. XD (Which is why I still don't have any white mums growing anywhere.)
