Okay so I see Redd's ship in my town but it says I shouldn't go in without asking.... How do I ask him?

I found him wandering around my town, and bought artwork from him. Not sure how to get into the ship yet but I talked to him again after buying his art and he was talking about potentially using the ship as a display gallery or something? So maybe it'll be open the day after you first meet him?

Have you spoken to Blathers? He referenced Redd today to me but I don't have the ship so I am not sure. In City Folk you had to get an invite from a villager. Try talking to them.

Redd will be wandering today, talk to him and buy a painting from him. Then, the next time he visits he’ll be wandering again. After talking to him that time he should let you on his boat. Help this helps

here's what I know from what I've done and 1 video on youtube:

1. talk to blathers and he should say something about adding an art gallery if you find any art
2. the next day Redd will show up wandering around your town. He'll sell you a painting strait up...don't worry it's not fake
3. take your first painting to blathers
4. Blathers will then start the museum upgrade


Redd was in my town today because I ran the update last night and talked to Blathers.  I kinda expect my museum to be closed tomorrow for the upgrade
