So, I've been progressing through New Horizons and I put down a new house for a resident to move into. The next day it says it has been sold with it now belonging to Marshal. I was thrilled until I wake up the next morning, go to his house and when I knock on his door it says, "I moved out". He shows up on my map and I'm not able to ask Nook to move his house but I am able to "complain" about him to Isabelle and yet, he's nowhere to be seen on my island and his house just stand there, empty. I'm wondering if there's a fix for this or if a few days go by and it'll fix itself. I really don't want to loose him moving in or for it to be stuck like this forever... Help?

I think this is a bug that started with the last patch which was made to fix a similar bug with amiibo villagers moving out.

Since it's so new no one knows for sure what will happen but being I've seen a few people complaining about it I think Nintendo will fix it.

Oh thank you. I didn't use an amiibo for him but I really hope it gets fixed soon.

When the game released there was a similar bug with duplicate villagers causing issue.
I'm sure they'll fix this too, please report it to their email, or support, just to let them know.
It will get fixed I'm sure! We are already on version 1.1.3 A so they're constantly updating.

I've noticed how often they update! I tried contacting them and their email and chat are closed right now due to the virus thing happening. Sadly, I'm unable to call at the moment

Maybe try a twitter post? Often they are answering there! Either post on their most recent post with the issue, or send a message to their account, or both! Honestly as long as people see it, they'll try and fix it asap.

I got the same glitch today. I used 30 NMT on islands. Found tangy and boom. "I moved out" it's infuriating.

The game just updated to 1.1.4 at like, 3am and sadly it didn't fix it
