Hey everyone! With the recent release of New Horizons, I'm curious to see what everyone's favorite Animal Crossing game is.
City Folk was my first Animal Crossing game, which still makes it my favorite. I absolutely loved my town and villagers. I loved it so much, that I went out and bought a gamecube with that version of Animal Crossing. I also bought Wild World. I've been playing all of the Animal Crossing games since!
Let me know what yours is! It'll be interesting to see what everyone says.

Generally, with my play style when a new AC game come I abandon the last one. I "move out" Gamecube is the only one that I ever return to and check up on everyone. I've had the same town since it released and I would be devastated if anything ever happened to my save data.

The first, by a mile. Although New Leaf is definitely way up there, my favorite game of all time is the original AC. You always hear about magic in games. What that magic is has never been defined, because only a certain few have it. AC on GCN is one of them. It's my favorite game of all time, and I dou t anything will ever top it.
Population Growing was my first introduction to the series, and it will always hold a special place in my heart. Being amazed that the game worked in real time, being able to furnish my house and "live on my own", having quirky neighbors to meet and befriend. There was a lot of charm and simplicity in the game.
Wild World also has a special place in my heart. Being able to take my village on the go was brilliant, and WiFi-ing with friends from ACC created a lot of fond memories to associate with the game. I did enjoy a lot of quality of life improvements it made too, and I never thought the graphics were that bad. Sure, probably dated especially by today's standards, but still charming. I would say Wild World probably got the most playtime from me.
City Folk didn't quite do it for me. I think it was a combination of back to being confined to a TV, being unimpressed that they reused the Wild World soundtrack, less of my friends also owning it to WiFi with, how quickly the city got tiring, and maybe even my age as a high schooler and finding the game less entertaining?
I was VERY late to the New Leaf wagon (because I didn't own a 3DS for the longest time). I think this game was a great improvement to the series and was very entertaining. However, this one also did not get nearly as much playtime as past iterations.
And now we are up to New Horizons! With the current world pandemic, it's certainly provided more than ample time to play the game. And a lot more friends actually have the game than past ones, so it's also been a great social outlet. So far I'm really enjoying this one!
City Folk, WW being a close second. I put so many hours into WW, and the wifi was so fun and dangerous because of seeding and bricking (if you wified during that time, you know how crazy it was LOL).
City Folk had a lot of similarities to WW but was the first real big UPGRADE step in the series. They did a really good job with it.
AC:GC / Population Growing will always be my favorite. I've played them all (besides the N64 version) and nothing seems to beat the feelings I got and still get when playing that game.
Admittedly I haven't played my original file in years mostly due to not knowing where my GCN is...but I did find my Wii the other day, so maybe I can pay a visit to my first town.
My favorite game is New Horizon. It looks so good for a Switch game and I love the ways you can customize your island! I also like how the villagers look in the game.
new leaf is my favorite, although i will probably not revisit my town (my town and house were finished and i’m happy with how i left off. i don’t think there’s much for me to DO) since i have moved on to new horizons.
the gamecube version has a special place in my heart, since it is so charming. i feel like it came into my life at just the right time, and my siblings and i had a blast playing it. i did not like wild world or city folk and do not look back on them fondly.
It's a tough spot between Wild World and New Horizons. I wanna rule out the GC AC because Nostalgia will take over. But Wild World helped me dive into the series a lot more to make so many friends a such on this site! and New Horizons really does help me relive those memories a lot more.
I might have to go with Wild World on this one. So many good and fun experinces. thanks to this site no less haha.
