Hello, I'm Nintendude64, and over a decade ago, I started a series of AC journals detailing my Animal Crossing gameplay experiences. I first started off with simultaneous journals series for the original Animal Crossing on GameCube, Animal Crossing: Wild World on the DS, and Animal Crossing: City Folk on Wii. Of those three, my City Folk journal series really took off and became quite successful, spanning all the way to Week 231. That was over 4 years worth of playing City Folk consistently. My most recent journal series chronicled my adventures in Animal Crossing: New Leaf for 3DS. That series lasted for about a year and half. Now I'm excited to start a brand new journal series, as I share my weekly adventures in Animal Crossing: New Horizons for Switch!
Each week I will be posting about my adventures in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Note that these entries are not fiction. These entries detail my true gameplay experiences. The weekly entries I post may contain spoilers, so read at your own risk. As a respect to other players, I will try to markup anything that I would consider as major spoilers. Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy!
It's a brand new Animal Crossing game, and I'm off on my deserted island getaway! My character, Qwerty, lands on a previously uninhabited island with three Nooks, a green koala named Lyman, and a yellow bear cub named Tammy. Man, what an odd bunch are we? At least everybody seems to get along well as we begin to scavenge for materials and try to get our tents set up. Looks like this island's native fruit is peaches, with mums as a native flower. The other villagers and I begin to settle in and we end up naming the island Huber. Has a pretty nice ring to it! As I work through my first day in Huber, I make a lot of progress pulling weeds, earning Nook Miles, earning bells, and crafting a variety of DIY items. I pretty quickly get frustrated at how ...flimsy my initial tools are, and quickly unlock the ability to start upgrading to slightly better equipment. I also unlock more expansive pocket space, and the tool ring. Both certainly made life easier right away.
Come Saturday morning, I awake to find myself no longer with a tent, but a small house! The upgrade seemed relatively easy to obtain. As a result of me showing off various critters to Tom Nook the previous day, his old pal Blathers moved in and set up a tent today. I already have hoards of critters stocked up that I am eager to donate to the talkative owl. I donate about half of the bugs and fish that I had sitting around when Blathers decides to close up shop and prepare for an upgrade to a full Museum. While exciting as that is, I am frustrated that I can no longer donate items. At least I have a shovel and a pole vault now, and I can explore beyond the rivers that originally locked me in a small swath of land. Of course, that also means pulling a lot more weeds again! While exploring, I encounter a seagull who has washed ashore onto my beach. His name is Gulliver, and he seems to have lost his crew. I help him out by finding five pieces to his communication device. He sends me a reward in the mail, a hula doll which I receive the next day. I end my day by using my complementary Nook Miles Ticket to visit a mystery island. Turns out this mystery island is just like a mini version of my island, but at least it has fresh materials for me to gather. I also meet an exciting horse named Winnie, and invite her to move to my town.
Sunday arrives, and I find myself with a lot of construction happening in Huber. My house has been remodeled and is slightly larger now. What was once Blather's meager tent has now become a noisy construction site. The two Nookling boys also had a shop, Nook's Cranny, built overnight, thanks to my tireless material collecting. I also get some more flexibility to explore my island, as I have now built a ladder. I use this tool to explore the higher altitudes on the northern half of Huber, and pull more weeds of course! Tom Nook also asks me to set up three house plots for new neighbors, along with some accompanying furniture. Off I go to gather more materials to make these items. Thankfully, going to another mystery island comes in handy. Here on this island, which again feels like a mini-Huber, I gather more materials and meet a bear cub named Pekoe. Since we are currently recruiting more laborers ...er, residents, I make the offer to have her move to my island. I decide to end the day by doing some more out of town travel. This time I fly out to visit three various friends' islands, and pick up some foreign fruit along the way.
Monday rolls around, and I am excited to see that Huber's first bridge has been built. This makes travel around the island slightly easier, but we've still got a long way to go with amenities. I then encounter a strange hippie dog wandering around the woods. This strange fellow named Harvey, nicknamed Harv, invites me to his own island. Seems a little sketchy to me, but I figure it may be worth a flight if I have some time to burn in the future. I also meet my first of three new neighbors, Winnie. With a growing collection of fruit and flowers, I start to envision how I would like Huber's orchards and gardens to be. I start putting this plan to action on and off throughout the rest of the week.
I wake up early Tuesday morning and start off on my morning routine that I have developed. I go around town hitting all of the rocks, along with watering my flowers and talking to any villagers. I encounter another villager, and it is a camel named Saharah. She offers to sell me some rugs, wallpaper, and flooring. She also seems to have an interesting ticket system, where if I buy enough goods from her, I can get something for free. I end up buying one of each type of rug, a piece of flooring, and then get a free piece of wallpaper. As I continue my routine for the day, I see that Pekoe has now moved into Huber. Later in the evening, I find myself with some free time, so I fly out to Harvey's place, which is called Photopia. I'm not too thrilled at first, but I end up having a pretty great time summoning a bunch of speechless animals and rearranging furniture pieces for an opportunistic photo. I return back home, and as I'm wandering my northern cedar forest I encounter a ghost. I think he is more spooked than me, because he splits into five pieces and asks me to go find them for him. I hunt the spirits down and Wisp returns back to his former self, giving me a small token for my efforts.
By now, my days have become pretty regular. I've gotten pretty used to life in Huber. It's Wednesday, and I meet my last new neighbor of the three new residents we have been expecting. He is a purple cat wearing a pink floral dress; I couldn't be more thrilled to meet Bob. He might just be my favorite animal in town now. I encounter Gulliver again along the shores. Falling off of your ship twice in one week? There must be rough waters around my island. I help him out again, and receive a samurai wig in the mail the next day. To end the day, I take another mystery island tour. Yet again, I find myself on a familiar looking island. Why do all of these islands feel like my hometown? This island seems pretty deserted, so I ransack the place entirely.
It's now Thursday, the last day of this first week of my new island life. I find a familiar face with a stall set up in the town plaza. Her name is Mabel, and I recall meeting her briefly once before at Nook's Cranny, when it first opened. Here she is selling various clothing items. I throw her a few bells and buy a couple things. Its later in the day, and I decide to visit a friend's town, only to find Saharah there! I help a camel out and buy one of everything, which of course includes a freebie. As I head home for the evening, I bypass what used to be Tom Nook's tent. He's in the process of doing renovations, and I should expect a full fledged resident services building pretty soon! I call it a night as I look forward to what the next week has in store for me.
"Of those three, my City Folk journal series really took off and became quite successful, spanning all the way to Week 231. That was over 4 years worth of playing City Folk consistently."
I miss those days, when this board used to be called Fan Fiction and it was absolutely booming, there were people posting and commenting all the time. It brings me so much nostalgia. Now onto the journal...
"I already have hoards of critters stocked up that I am eager to donate to the talkative owl. I donate about half of the bugs and fish that I had sitting around when Blathers decides to close up shop and prepare for an upgrade to a full Museum. While exciting as that is, I am frustrated that I can no longer donate items."
Lol! This is funny. I feel this and relate. I had sooo many bugs and fish whilst Blathers's tent/museum was closed for 2 days, and I'd forgotten which ones I'd given him since they don't mark until you actually have the museum building open. I got confused real fast.
"I can explore beyond the rivers that originally locked me in a small swath of land."
I loved the wording here. It is claustrophobic starting on a tiny patch of land without feasible way to escape, except for possibly bothering your Time Travelling friends to give you a pole vault.
"He sends me a reward in the mail, a hula doll which I receive the next day."
Cute! That's a great item to get from Gulliver.
" Turns out this mystery island is just like a mini version of my island, but at least it has fresh materials for me to gather."
That's what most of the islands seem to be like, but apparently there may be ways to manipulate the seed for a rarer island.
"I use this tool to explore the higher altitudes on the northern half of Huber, and pull more weeds of course!"
" Since we are currently recruiting more laborers ...er, residents, I make the offer to have her move to my island. "
So Tom Nook has essentially set up a resort where people pay him to work for him? Sounds about right. I like these little tongue-in-cheek remarks you keep making. They're cute and amusing.
"I wake up early Tuesday morning and start off on my morning routine that I have developed. I go around town hitting all of the rocks, along with watering my flowers and talking to any villagers."
Yeah, I feel that's the kind of gameplay cycle this encourages. Going around your whole island hitting trees, watering flowers, hitting rocks... Just sprucing the place up and collecting mats! I did it every day for about a week and a half, and for the first day yesterday I broke this cycle because, well, I had waaaay too much material so collecting more felt silly.
" She also seems to have an interesting ticket system, where if I buy enough goods from her, I can get something for free. I end up buying one of each type of rug, a piece of flooring, and then get a free piece of wallpaper."
" I'm not too thrilled at first, but I end up having a pretty great time summoning a bunch of speechless animals and rearranging furniture pieces for an opportunistic photo."
Yeah, I was pretty underwhelmed when I found that Harv's island was just a glorified photo booth too, but it's lowkey pretty fun. Summoning all your amiibos and cards and seeing them in action, dressing them how you want... It's kind of like playing with dolls.
" I think he is more spooked than me, because he splits into five pieces and asks me to go find them for him."
Wisp is great. He's a ghost and he's scared of ghosts. You spooked him because he thought you were one of his own!
"He is a purple cat wearing a pink floral dress; I couldn't be more thrilled to meet Bob."
The king has arrived, his fabulous fashion sense still in tact.
Great first week. I'll keep up with this journal, add it to my flagged threads!
Your rhinestone eyes are like
factories far away
Thank you for the kind words and comments everybody. Looking forward to writing many more weeks to come.
It's my second Friday on this island, and a week has passed since I have called this place my home. To celebrate the occasion, we finally have a full-fledged resident services building! In addition to the spiffy new building, it looks like Tom Nook has hired a new staff member to help run things around here. Her name is Isabelle, and she certainly brings a bundle of sunshine to our little town. Along with the upgrade to resident services, I have also now expanded my pockets to hold even more items. Will any expansion ever be enough though? To celebrate this grand day in town, I decide I will open up the gates to the airport and let some friends over. I end up spending the better half of the next hour with three of my first friends to visit Huber! As the day comes to a close and evening draws near, I decide to take a quick mystery tour out of town. To my surprise, I don't land on a mini-clone of my island. Instead, this island is full of hybrid tulips. Luckily, I have my trusty shovel, and manage to dig up several of these colorful tulips to take home and plant on my own island. Before I call it a night, I decide to take advantage of the new resident services building and start a fund to build a second bridge in town. The less pole-vaulting over water, the better. I also plot out an area for a campsite to be built. The last thing I decide to do for the day is request to relocate my house, as I honestly don't care for living so close to the hustle and bustle of what is becoming "downtown" Huber. Tom Nook happily obliges my request for a bit of a fee, and I plot to relocate my house up north into the hills.
Come Saturday, I awaken, and my house seems to have magically been plopped down into a new location! Tom Nook must have some crazy technology that he is hiding from the rest of us. I also find that Huber's very own campsite has already been built. There are no campers yet, but I am excited to see what kind of visitors we will soon host. I find Mabel setting up shop out in front of resident services again, though I don't find anything too interesting to buy. As I stroll through our developing town, I notice that the area that my house once stood was now quite barren. I decide to turn this area into a classic dump where any visitors can come and take (or leave) any items they wish for no charge. After a little bit of fencing construction, along with designing a sign, Huber's dump takes shape. After all that hard work, I decide to take another mystery tour. I find myself on a very peculiar deserted island, with a sort of moat and and island with a bunch of rocks in the middle. I finesse my way onto this island, and to my surprise, the rocks are all money rocks! Suffice to say, it has been a profitable trip, and quite the day with a lot accomplished. I put the money to good use and pay off my debt and call it a day.
I awake on Sunday to a brand new room added onto the back of my house, and of course a brand new debt from old Tom Nook. As I roam around town, I run into a young boar with a basket of turnips on her head. Her name is Daisy Mae, and it honestly looks like she could use a tissue. Despite her snotty ...er shoddy appearance, I find that our interests align, as she offers to sell me some turnips so that I can take part in the stalk market. I buy 100 turnips and cross my fingers that the turnip trends play in my favor as the next week unfolds. As I continue to explore around town for the day, I see that our campsite has its first visitor. His name is Graham, and he is a short and stout hamster. He seems a little goofy, but I'm adamant about inviting him to move into town. Luckily, he seems to be on board, and so is Tom Nook. I plot out where he will eventually live. I round out the day by buying a couple of wares from Mabel, who is peddling yet again out in town square, while on my way to take a flight to visit a friend's island.
It is now Monday, and my new friend from the campsite, Graham, has moved into his plot. I also have another peculiar visitor to town. I meet Flick, a cool chameleon with a punk rock vibe. This guy has a thing for bugs, and lets me sell him the bugs I catch for an inflated price. What a deal! On top of that, he offers to make me a model of any bug, as long as I provide him three of a specimen. Well, I take him up on his offer and catch three of the easiest bugs I can find, common butterflies. He says that he will craft up this model and send it to me in the mail. As the day continues on, I end up having a friend over for a little bit as I continue to catch and sell bugs for a big profit. I later visit a different friend's island, and to my surprise, she has Flick in her town too. Disappointingly, Flick does not seem to let visitors sell him any bugs. Big bummer!
After reeling in all of the big bells from bugs on Monday with Flick, now on Tuesday I start focusing my efforts on reeling in the big fish! I meet another new character named C.J. that is all about fish, and looking good on social media. This fellow seems to be challenging me to catch three of a certain size of fish back-to-back. After nailing the challenge easily, C.J. has allowed me to sell him fish for an inflated price! He has also offered to send me a model if I can provide him three of the same type of fish. He mentions that he has a buddy that is awfully good at creating models of creatures. No wonder why this whole scenario seems oddly familiar. I continue my day with a lot of fishing, and using my newly completed second bridge to its full potential.
March has come to a close, and now April is rolling in at full swing. I step outside on Wednesday to see that cherry blossoms are everywhere! Many trees are now fully pink, and I'm finding cherry blossoms floating around town that can be caught and crafted into different things. Cherry blossoms aren't the only thing I am finding en masse though. I am collecting eggs like crazy, and let me tell you, they are everywhere. I'm finding eggs in the sky from balloons. I'm shaking eggs out of trees. I'm chopping eggs out of trees. I'm hitting eggs out of rocks. I'm digging eggs out of the ground. I'm even fishing eggs out of the water. In fact, I'd go as far to say that Huber has been plagued by these eggs. I soon find out that all of these eggs appearing are the doing of a very sketchy visitor that I find hopping around town. He calls himself Zipper, and he claims that Bunny Day is around the corner. I should collect as many eggs as possible and start crafting them into various egg related items. So over the course of the day, I continue to collect eggs, and start to build a new collection of DIY egg recipes. Do you know what the worst part about all of this is? I don't even like to eat eggs! Good thing these eggs are used for crafting. Beyond the crazy egg-stravaganza going on in town, I do find Mabel set up in the plaza again. This time, she pops a big question and asks if I would like her to build her very own clothing shop here in town. I agree and help her find a location, suited right in the heart of town by our other local shop. We have another visitor in town at the campsite too, but this is a special sheep that I summoned myself. I find Muffy camping out away from all of the hub-bub of town, and she gives me a DIY recipe to build her a somewhat difficult item for me to build in just one day. I reassure her that if she comes back again someday, I will make sure I have the item built and ready for her. Then, as day turns into night, the skies light up! It turns out that there is a meteor shower tonight! As each star goes by, I turn my attention to the sky and make a quick wish. To celebrate this occasion, even more visitors enter our little island. I find Celeste, Blathers's sister, waxing poetic about the stars in the night sky. Then four of my friends come to experience the majestic scene unfolding in the dark spring sky.
The week starts to come to a close on Thursday, where I find a ton of star pieces coming ashore on my beach after a fun night of twinkling lights. I plan to save these up, as I know a few DIY items that can be crafted out of these shiny bits. I find that the Nooklings are buying turnips for a fairly profitable price this morning, so I grab my turnips and sell! I turn a pretty good profit of just under double what I spent to buy the turnips. I find some new faces around the town, as an octopus named Octavian has bought and moved into a house plot in Huber! I introduce myself, and then check up on a new camper that I have summoned. This penguin seems to be a hockey fan like me, and he goes by Puck. Like Muffy, he requests I craft him a somewhat difficult piece of furniture. It will have to wait until next time, as I need time to gather a lot of cardboard, it seems. To round out the week, I end up buying some goods from Saharah, as I find her roaming the shores. Before hitting the hay, we get the whole town together to celebrate the grand opening of our third bridge. Travel around town is finally getting easier and easier!

It's the dawn of the third week, and I feel much fun remains! I kick Friday off with an encounter with Gulliver again. How many times does this dude take a tumble?! I dig up his communicator parts, happily expecting another reward in the mail the next day. What has me even more excited though is the grand opening of the Able Sisters shop! After celebrating with the community, I hop inside and am given the tour by Mabel. I also meet her sister Sable, but she is pretty quiet and quite engrossed with her work. I shop around, try out the fitting room and the terminal, and display a design. As Saturday rolls around, I decide to invite a couple of buddies over to hang out for a while. Later in the night, I encounter the familiar ghost Wisp. Even though we've met before, he still seems scared of me. I take on his fetch quest again to receive a humble reward.
I awake bright and early Sunday morning to find Daisy Mae, the turnip seller. Since I made some profits last week, I figure I will indulge a little more in these turnips this week. As I make my rounds around town, I pop in a new house that has popped up to meet Biff. He's a big hippo, and from his personality, he's all muscles! I also invite an old camper friend, Muffy, back for a chance to mend things after last time when I couldn't provide her with a specific DIY furniture request. She requests something new, instead of the piece of furniture that I was finally able to make from last time, and unfortunately I have to blow her off again. I decide to end my night with a mystery tour. Wilbur drops me off at a peculiar island this time. It seems like the river spirals around the entire island. While a cool design, there wasn't much else special about the place. I do meet another hamster, Hamlet who is just chilling by the campfire towards the center of the spiral.
Monday moves in and I encounter another familiar face between my two waterfalls. It's C.J., and he's all up in the social media frenzy again. I take on his challenge, and easily catch five fish in a row. I commission him to have his buddy make me a loach model, and subsequently sell off a bunch of fish to him throughout the rest of the day. As I wander around town fishing, I find a peculiar item sitting on the ground next to a tree. It happens to be a lost book, so I guess it would be best to find the owner. After some querying around town, Pekoe gives me a hint that it might be Octavian's. It takes me a little while to hunt him down, but sure enough it was his! It's always a joy to help out a neighbor. Speaking of neighbors, the neighbors and I all got together today to celebrate the fourth bridge opening in Huber! I also invite Puck back to my campsite, and successfully craft him an item that he requests. I wrap things up for the day by having two more friends come and visit my island.
Tuesday arrives, and I find that there are now cherry blossoms everywhere! They are floating through the air and I see them floating in the water. This scene completely encompasses the beauty of spring. I see a new, yet somewhat familiar face with a little stand set up at the plaza. Label the hedgehog is selling all sorts of accessories. I wonder if she is related to the hedgehogs that run the tailor shop? She asks me to put together an outfit with an outdoorsy vibe, after giving me a shirt as an example. I put on the shirt and it fulfills her request. That was a little simpler than I thought it would be. She gives me a free hat that she designed as compensation for my time. I invite Puck back to the campsite yet again, and help him out by making another piece of furniture for him. So far his requests seem to be a lot more realistic. I visit Tammy later on and see that she has packed up and will be leaving town soon. I bid her adieu; hopefully another friend will come and fill in her shoes.
The shoes are filled the very next day! While not in the same house plot as Tammy, a cat named Katt with a similar personality moves into Huber on Wednesday. On top of the great news, I get to convince Puck to move into Huber too. What a two-for-one deal! After making a third piece of furniture for Puck while he was in town to camp, I got to ask him to move into Tammy's old house plot. As for other visitors to Huber, I had two more friends over to town. Kicks, the footwear sales-skunk also made his first appearance in the town plaza. I wasn't sure if that smell was from him or perhaps the stinky used shoes he was trying to sell me. Puck then actually moves in on Thursday, putting a great end to the third week on this island. I have been hosting a lot of friends this week, so its time that I finally go out again and visit a friend's island for a change. It's always nice to see how other people are beautifying their spot in the ocean. Just before calling it a day, I find myself running into Saharah for a pleasant exchange of bells and tickets for some rugs, flooring, and wallpaper. Yet another successful, fun-filled week. I sense many great things upcoming next week!

This week in the adventures of New Horizons, I awake early Friday morning to be greeted by an amazing K.K. Slider performance! Yes, that's right. After nearly three weeks of hard work, our humble little island has been noticed by the one and only K.K. Slider! After the performance, I'm given a free aircheck. I've also been given a new app to my Nook Phone by none other than Tom Nook himself. It is the island designer app, and it gives me full construction capabilities to construct and demolish the landscape around the island. Well, actually, it doesn't come fully featured. It looks like I have to spend Nook Miles to be able to add more components to the app. I go ahead and buy the waterscaping permit and give it a bit of a go by carving out a small new pond. I actually like the natural aesthetic of my island, so I'm not planning on butchering it up too much. I have a regular friend over to visit my island for a bit before calling it a day.
Saturday played host to Huber's first Fishing Tourney. I'm up way too early for C.J. though, as it looks like he still needs his morning coffee. In the meantime, I spend more Nook Miles to unlock the cliff construction permit and a bunch of path options for the island designer app. I also invite Muffy back to camp at our campsite and she finally makes a reasonable DIY request! I check back in later on in the day and this time C.J. is ready to roll; the Fishing Tourney is in full swing. I take several rounds at fishing and earn some prizes before tuckering out for the day. I could only take so much of that beaver talking, or should I say gnawing, my ear off!
The next day is Bunny Day, and I see that Zipper fellow hopping around out in the plaza for all to see. I present him with all of my completed egg DIY recipes, and can you believe that this guy strung me along for even more things to build? Good grief. After appeasing him and meeting all his demands, I finally got some subpar rewards. I then craft all of my leftover eggs away into more furniture to sell for a pretty high price. I never want to see eggs again! In other news, after daily visits to the Able Sisters, I notice that the older Able sister, Sable, has been starting to get more friendly and talkative with me. She has even gone as far as joking around a bit and telling some stories from the family's past. I then find Daisy Mae to buy some turnips for the week. While I have been buying limited quantities, it has been a profitable escapade for the past two weeks. Muffy also comes back to camp with a new DIY request that I fulfill, and Huber celebrates the replacement of its original bridge. I never cared for that junky pieced together log bridge. While it served us well, I find the nicer wooden bridge suits our island a lot better. I then take a couple of trips out of town. The first is to a mystery tour island that contains many money rocks! This has been my second time to such an island, and it certainly is profitable. After that, I stop by a friend's town for the first time and celebrate the holiday with them for a bit.
I should mention that I paid my latest house debt off on Sunday, so on Monday morning, I find my house to have a brand new room! I do a little reorganizing around the house and then head out to celebrate the construction of Huber's very first ramp. Now we are starting to reach new heights! I then invite Muffy to camp at our campsite one final time. Why is it one final time? That's because she decides to finally move to Huber after I offer her a new piece of DIY furniture. The only snag is that somebody else needs to move out. I let her give Lyman a little nudge, and next thing I know he's in boxes ready to go. I was never too attached to the guy, but I will admit that it's sad that I've already bid adieu to the first two villagers that I had in town. As I check back in later in the day, I find Flick hunting for bugs around the island. Not sure how I missed him earlier, but I call on him to make a model from all of the snails that I found on this rainy day.
The next day, we have a celebration for another incline being built. I can now navigate to and from my house in the northwest cliffs without having to use a ladder or a pole vault. It sure makes travel a lot easier. Label has set up out in the plaza, and she asks me to sport a noble style with some sort of royal shirt. I put on the shirt and I have a hard time judging her reaction. I didn't get any reward past a tailor's ticket this time, so maybe I should actually try to match the theme she provides next time. I then go out of town to visit a friend who has Saharah visiting his town. Then on Wednesday, Saharah makes her way over to my town! That's two days in a row of picking up some rugs, flooring, and wallpaper. Also on Wednesday, Muffy finally moves in where Lyman's old house plot was and I take a tour to a pretty basic mystery island. On the last day of this week, Kicks has set up out in the plaza and I toss him a few bells for his troubles. I round the week out by flying out to another friend's beautiful village. It's been nearly one month on this island, and I am looking forward to many more to come!

Another week has arrived! Starting things off, Huber's third incline opens up! C.J. is also back on this Friday. I sell him a bunch of fish for some good bells, and give him some daces in return for a dace model that I expect in the mail. Saturday night plays host to two visitors! I enjoy my first "regular" K.K. Slider performance, in which I request my second favorite song of his: K.K. Ragtime! The other visitor to town that night is a good friend of mine that stops in and hangs out for a bit. On Sunday morning, I venture out to buy another round of turnips. I'm definitely hoping for a good trend this upcoming week because I got unlucky with a steady decline of prices last week. Huber is also celebrating its fourth incline being built on today. Just for the record, I've been building all natural inclines in town. They're cheap, and they look the best, in my opinion. Later on that night, a new record ends up being made in Huber. I have a total of five different friends come and visit my town during the time that it is open! We only max out at five players on one island (including me) at one time though. Maybe one time we'll hit that magic eight!
Monday rolls around and C.J. is back in town yet again! I don't complain, because it makes for some easy bells while fishing. This time I have him have his roommate make me a crucian carp model. I realize that eventually I'm going to run out of common fish to catch and I'm going to have to stock up on rarer fish for him when he visits. I also find out that Puck is sick. This is the first time I had somebody sick on my island. Luckily medicine is easy to craft, but I realize it is probably good to always keep some on stock. Those wasp stings don't heal themselves, especially when you are hunting for wasp nests for DIY crafting. I have a friend come back by later on in the day. As I start my day on Tuesday, I am informed that Nook's Cranny will be closed tomorrow for renovations. The island's fifth incline also gets completed. Now we are really going places.
Now it is Wednesday, the day I've been dreading. While I am excited for Nook's Cranny to be upgrading, having a whole day without a shop is brutal! Suffice to say, as I go about my day, more and more items seem to pile up around the shop. I ought to name it the "great wall of bugs'' if it were a permanent fixture! At least the tailors shop is still open, and Label is in town to keep things somewhat interesting. Thankfully, things aren't entirely doom and gloom. I happen to see a peculiar looking balloon floating off in the distance. As I get closer, I notice that it is a golden colored balloon! I haven't seen that kind before! I shot it down, and to my surprise, the gift contained a DIY recipe for a golden slingshot. Woohoo, my first golden tool! Thankfully, I find Nook's Cranny open again on Thursday, this time with an entirely new store! Those remodels must have cost a lot of money, because I instantly notice some really pricey items for sale. Yikes! Another piece of excitement is that I find a new face hanging out outside in the plaza. Leif the sloth is selling some flower seeds and shrub starts for fellow green thumbs! I buy some seeds for flowers that I do not have growing in town, as well as a handful of each of the different shrub types. Time to get planting! Tom Nook also informs me that Nature Day is now underway, and that I can earn Nook Miles for doing nature-themed tasks. Seems like it pairs well for the gardener in me! I do a lot of planting, have a friend over for a quick visit, and then wrap up the week!

Woohoo, it's Friday! I'm staring the week off right with a house upgrade! I now have four rooms in my house. In addition to that excitement, I get to meet a new character. Isabelle warned me that there was somebody shady looming around the island. Well, I meet Redd, and he seems like a pretty good fellow! He even inducts me as part of his family, and gives me a great deal on a piece of art. I feel like this will be a long lasting relationship. As a coincidence, Blathers at the Museum mentions that he'd like to start taking artwork for the Museum. I give him my newly acquired piece and off we go discussing an upgrade the the facilities.
Looks like the Museum is closed now on Saturday. It reminds me of the early days on the island where I would stack things up to donate. This time, I am just plopping fossils outside of the construction site. I also find out that Graham has packed up to move. I bid him adieu and safe travels. Daisy Mae makes her usual visit on Sunday, and I buy a small investment of turnips, as per usual. It looks like Redd is also back, this time on a trawler located on the north side of the island. I buy a painting from him to donate to the newly updated Museum. The lovely art exhibit now has two paintings! I also have two friends come over to visit early on in the morning.
Looks like Monday is an extra special day; it's Katt's birthday! This is the first birthday that we get to celebrate in Huber. When I arrive at her house, I find it decked out in birthday goodies. Yuka is also there to celebrate with us. I see Kicks is in town, though he doesn't seem to bat an eye at the festivities that are going on at Katt's nearby. Huber is also playing host to a camper named Bertha today. I play a few card games with her, but unfortunately walk away empty handed every time. On Thursday, it looks like Flick finally comes back to visit. I haven't seen him for awhile. I give him yellow butterflies this time for him to make me a model. We also celebrate the completion of our seventh incline in town. I spot that Graham's old house plot has been bought, so Wednesday should be interesting.
So Kidd moves in today! He is a very suave goat, and I think we will get along just fine. I appreciate his sophisticated aura. My cousin Redd must really like Huber, as I see he is back again to peddle his goods. I purchase another painting for our Museum. Another friend then comes by to visit Huber midday. Wrapping up the week, Thursday starts out with my encounter with another peddler: Saharah. I buy some goods from her before heading off to the ceremony for our islands last and final planned incline. All of the inclines up until this point have been natural ramps. For this eighth incline, I decided to change it up and when with a wooden staircase!

Week 7 begins an May begins as well! I always love the beginning of a new month in AC. There is always so much to discover! On Friday, Leif paid Huber a visit again. This time he had a new shrub type, hollies, that I bought and planted near my house. Saturday night was a great night of K.K. filled concerts! I had K.K. perform K.K. March for me in my town. This was the very first K.K. song I ever received back in AC:GC, and has remained one of my favorite K.K. songs. I then visited a friend's town and watched another K.K. performance there. Leif was back again on Sunday, but had nothing new to offer to me in terms of shrubs or flowers. I've been on the hunt for rose seeds since the game has come out, and Nook's Cranny finally pulled through for me finally at the end of this week. I was expecting those seeds to pop up at Leif's eventually! Daisy Mae was also in town Sunday morning, and I bought some turnips from her. Ended up selling those turnips for my best profit yet later in the week! Our last visitor on Sunday was Tank the rhino, who was camping out at the campsite. I played a couple of card games with him, and actually managed to win one round!
Label stopped by on Monday, and requested I dress up following a fairy tale theme. She gave me a vampire cloak like shirt as inspiration. I went back home to try to find some matching clothing and when I presented my attire, she was extremely impressed. I got a pair of her designer socks as a reward, and ended up getting two tailors tickets in the mail the following day! Leif came back yet again on Tuesday. He must really enjoy my town with all of its greenery. I finally used the May Day ticket that Orville was holding onto for me. I fly out to a deserted island containing a maze. While I got to the end on my first try, it took me a second try to be able to claim all of the prizes. I think the best surprise was getting to meet Rover at the end of the maze! He seemed like quite the cool cat, so I hope I can meet him again. To end the night, I stopped by to explore a friend's town for a quick visit.
I was then really saddened to find that Katt was sick on Wednesday. I gave her some medicine from my stash and she seemed to perk right up! Kicks was here on Wednesday too, though nothing in his stock caught my eye. To end the week, I bought a handful of goods from Saharah on Thursday. I always tend to buy one of each item from her, which guarantees me a free carpet or wallpaper from the amount of tickets I obtain.
It's hard to believe that 8 weeks have already gone by in New Horizons! C.J. was a special visitor on Friday to start the week off. I had some fish stored away and ready for him in advance. I gave him some bluegill and got a bluegill model in return the next day. Saturday was lovely, seeing as I had another upgrade completed on my house. I know have a second story! Aside from the massive debt that I am now in, I'm not really even sure I have enough furniture to fill this new room at this point. As of right now, it is quite empty. I also enjoyed K.K. Slider's performance on Saturday night. He performed K.K. Fusion for me. I met up with Daisy Mae to buy turnips on Sunday. I ended up making a small profit this week as Huber's turnips were trending in what looked to be a low spike variant. We also had a camper in town. She was a yellow monkey named Tammi, as opposed to Huber alumni Tammy, the yellow bear cub. I played a few card games with her and managed to win one prize.
On Monday, I found a visitor to our shores that I haven't seen for awhile, literally. Gulliver had washed ashore gain. I helped him find his components, and he rewarded me with a geisha wig in the mail the next day. On Tuesday, my least favorite special visitor came to town. While I have nothing against Kicks as a character, I'm just never too interested in buying his wares. I also can't say that I enjoy hanging around skunks. A much better visitor came by the next day, and that was my old buddy Flick. Just like with C.J. from earlier in the week, I had some bugs in storage ready for him. This time I got a model of a peacock butterfly, which has also become one of my favorite bugs in the game so far. Last up for the week was that Saharah came to visit on Thursday. I got some more exclusive items, the wildflower floor becoming one of my new favorites. It looks quite nice in the outdoorsy themed room that I have going in my house.
