i like playing docked more because i personally just enjoy a bigger screen to look at and also because one of my joycons is kinda broken and it's irritating to play handheld sometimes because of it, but i still usually play handheld more anyway because i don't have my own TV to play docked with so i have to use the family TV when nobody's using it (a rarity) if i wanna play docked
I've been playing docked on my days off because I like to just leave it running on the tv and do other stuff when I get bored, then come back to it later
I do handheld on days I work because I can pick it up and put it away quickly. I can see myself playing more handheld later into the game's life when the novelty of "omg new pretty AC game!!!" wears off

Handheld. I haven't yet played the game docked, and I'm not really interested in doing so as it's less convenient for me. I'll check it out for the novelty value at some point, though.
I play handheld - I like lounging in different areas of the house and draping myself over furniture. My brother plays docked 95% of the time - don't think he's done that for any other game!
I mainly play handheld purely because my family tend to be using the tv. But I’ve actually started to use table top mode more often. I set the screen up on my bedside table and then lie in bed with the controllers chilling. I love that the switch has so many different ways to play and enjoy the console.

Handheld, exclusively. The game is more beautiful on the TV but Animal Crossing just doesn't feel right to me unless it's handheld, probably because I haven't played City Folk in nearly a decade.
Docked, mostly. If I'm still in the mood to play after Nook's Cranny opens, I'll switch to Handheld because I don't want to wake my brother up by turning on the TV.
I've played 99% handheld (I put it on the TV once but since I am near sighted I couldn't see the small details I like to see in handheld mode haha) I am not opposed to having it on the TV but like an earlier comment I don't have much space by my TV so it's much more convenient to just use it handheld.
On the opposite side of the spectrum my family who share a switch play it 90% docked because they all want to see what's happening and they like to play together.
