This time around, I didn't, but I almost wish I had. D:
My island was pretty rough for the first few days without the vaulting pole since I couldn't access 70% of it, and I haven't had the best spots for villager houses...

But considering how it's so easy to end up with an exorbitant amount of bells in this game as soon as you get comfortable, I don't mind the cost of having to move places. Gives me something to work towards. XD
Plus, I have high hopes for terraforming and being able to transform my little island sometime soon!

I only reset once because I didn't like where I put my house, only to find out I could move it eventually. I really liked my first island layout too!

I reset probably about....six times! I was only about half picky with the layout itself (knowing I would just end up moving buildings around and terraforming later, I only cared about the location of resident services), but I really, sincererely don't like cherries, which is what the universe decided to give me those first five times. On the sixth time I got a PERFECT layout, along with my all-time favorite fruit, pears!

In the moment, I was frustrated with the resetting, but it's an important choice and I couldn't be more happy with my island. It was worth the effort!

For this game?  Actually 0.  I got pretty lucky and got a layout that was pretty convenient for what I wanted to do.  In other animal crossing games, however...

None. I guess I'm just not very picky when it comes to town layouts.
And thus continues the pattern of having pears in most of my AC towns!

I haven't reset a single time.
After watching other videos on animal crossing and finally deciding to get it (New Horizons is my first game btw), I decided that I would never reset a single time, ever.

I think I reset like 9 times? I was resetting for peaches XD

Sunset Island- No resets.  Got Apples on the first try.

Sunrise Island.  Reset 5 times for Pears.  Harvested them and than erased the save data.  Reset 8 times for Cherries and kept the island.  I love Sunrise Island map.
Completed all the fruit for both Islands.

None, because I don't have any preference for native fruit/flowers, and colour of airport etc.

And I'm happy with the layout of my island, though I may tweak a few things here and there when I unlock terraforming.

I didn't, I ended up with apples and a yellow (my fav color) airport on my first try. Apples were the only thing that mattered to me tho, the airport was a bonus.

Zero times. I just go with the flow. I don't really care about the layout. Makes it more natural anyways, and adds a bit of challenge to work around stuff. My layout has a lot of rivers and hills so it has been fun.
