This time around, I didn't, but I almost wish I had. D: My island was pretty rough for the first few days without the vaulting pole since I couldn't access 70% of it, and I haven't had the best spots for villager houses...
But considering how it's so easy to end up with an exorbitant amount of bells in this game as soon as you get comfortable, I don't mind the cost of having to move places. Gives me something to work towards. XD Plus, I have high hopes for terraforming and being able to transform my little island sometime soon!
NH: Renee from Lutari Bay!
I reset probably about....six times! I was only about half picky with the layout itself (knowing I would just end up moving buildings around and terraforming later, I only cared about the location of resident services), but I really, sincererely don't like cherries, which is what the universe decided to give me those first five times. On the sixth time I got a PERFECT layout, along with my all-time favorite fruit, pears!
In the moment, I was frustrated with the resetting, but it's an important choice and I couldn't be more happy with my island. It was worth the effort!
I haven't reset a single time. After watching other videos on animal crossing and finally deciding to get it (New Horizons is my first game btw), I decided that I would never reset a single time, ever.
Sunset Island- No resets. Got Apples on the first try.
Sunrise Island. Reset 5 times for Pears. Harvested them and than erased the save data. Reset 8 times for Cherries and kept the island. I love Sunrise Island map. Completed all the fruit for both Islands.
Zero times. I just go with the flow. I don't really care about the layout. Makes it more natural anyways, and adds a bit of challenge to work around stuff. My layout has a lot of rivers and hills so it has been fun.
