And considering the stock in Nook's Cranny is fixed during the week (I think it resets either on Sunday or Monday), that wet suit definitely should've been there for you the first time. I'm playing my main non-TT island right now and am wondering if switching characters will do any good.

Riesz I started the diving yesterday and the yellow wetsuit was in Nook's shop. It was this morning that I didn't get one. I decided to TT to see if that would resolve it, and it did.

I can confirm there's something odd as I got a wet suit in Nook's Cranny yesterday, but not today.

Definitely shenanigans. I just switched characters and a horizontal-striped wet suit in red appeared.

Out of curiosity, are we all on Saturday? Can the weirdness be connected to that?

It must have been meant that way, but as I said, I went back a day and then came back to today, and there was a wetsuit next to the umbrellas. I was under the impression that we were supposed to be able to buy one every day?

I experienced that too, I was hoping to see one of a different color scheme or something but there just weren't any.

I think the official reason is that you're supposed to order it via Nook Shopping. They put them there the first day so we didn't have to wait overnight to try it on the first day.

The Writing Chair and Desk seem to have been re-named as well, to Study Chair and Desk ...

Switched back to my main character, and the wet suit is still there. I kinda wish I'd just saved, quit and started again with the same character to see if that would've fixed it. (Hint, hint.)

I had the wetsuit disappearing issue yesterda,y but when I visited a friend and came back that day the suit appeared for me. Didn't need to save and quit the game, just leave the island and come back. I think there's just a glitch with it not always consistently appearing?

The wet suit didn't appear for me again today. I think it might have something to do with waking your Switch from sleep mode when you start a new day. I just saved and restarted to fix it, but might try visiting next time. Gonna leave the Switch in sleep mode tonight to see if it happens again tomorrow.

edit: Forgot to mention that Pascal has since traded me two pearls, but I haven't found any yet (no surprise, still not playing much in general). But today he gave me a mermaid tiara. Not a recipe, an actual item.

Once again the wet suit did not appear in Nook's Cranny, which makes me think waking the Switch from sleep mode on a new day does have something to do with it. Did some more checking, and returning from a random island and inviting visitors do not fix the issue, whereas returning after visiting does, which makes me think basically reloading the island via returning, saving and restarting, and changing users is what fixes this issue.

Saharah now allows you to purchase more without ending the conversation after purchasing. It's still a tedious one-purchase-at-a-time, but this makes it a tiny bit faster.

Surprisingly my main island has Redd again today, with two more real paintings. Happy he's visiting more there, but I'm still bouncing between June 11-12 on my second island.

If you download the new update on a day already in progress, you will receive a letter informing you of swimming and diving, and the wet suit will appear in Nook's Cranny. Strangely, the leaf-print wet suit does not appear in the Nook Shopping app. (Unless it could be fixed like the other issue. Oh well, too late now.) Isabelle will still mention it in Announcement the next day, even referring to the letter.

Wet suit showed up no problem when launching the game on a new day. Just to be clear, when I woke the Switch before, the game was on the title screen, not in-game. Why the wet suit disappears, dunno, but I'm fine with blaming a just-woken Isabelle.

Good news if your Switch goes into sleep mode while hitting a bell rock because you didn't notice how low the battery got: plug it back in and resume, the game behaves as if nothing had happened. (But talk about bad timing. )

The map app does not work while swimming. You cannot change your camera angle when you are swimming quickly (so stupid, imo).

There are lots of fast-moving sea creatures in June in the Southern Hemisphere. The trick to catching them is to not press A, to slowly position yourself as best you can above them and hit Y. If you miss, just resurface and calmly reposition yourself. I found this works wonderfully with snow crabs and lobsters. It might help to hit A when you've dived if you're a bit off, but if you're too far off, resurface and repeat.

...Then we come to the sea pig. I hate these things. Several times I thought I was right above it, only to see the darn thing teleport a few spaces away with no chance of catching up. I've chased some right around the island before finally catching out of sheer stubborness. Which shows they don't despawn if you have them in your sights, which can be a good thing.

@Riesz I found that swimming at an even pace works best when chasing the faster ones.

They seem to slow down a bit when you aren't spamming the A button. I'm stubborn, I'll chase them until they slow down enough for me to catch them.

Edit: I don't know about the map app, but if you are idle in the water, the little map shows up in the lower right hand corner, and I use that to see where i am.

I had shooting stars the other night but I found out you can't wish on them if you are swimming. I tried!

Bbykat51 I had shooting stars while I was swimming last night as well. Isabelle did not announce nor could I find Celeste.

If you couldn't find Celeste that likely means you'll have another shower later in the week! If you have multiple star showers in a week Celeste will pick a random one to show up at, favoring meteor showers over the random ones. Isabelle also doesn't always announce when there's gonna be a shower as she only mentions meteor showers where stars are frequent! You can still have small/infrequent showers that never get mentioned, you just have to pay attention to the weather

1.3.1 is live. Tbh, it surprised me because I didn't know until I tried to send a letter to a friend. My Switch had been in sleep mode on the home page since yesterday, it's set to automatically update software, so why didn't it do it?

Not sure what it patches, but I think one of the bugs gone is the one when animals briefly go into think mode after you've spoken to them. That was irritatingly common, but I haven't seen it tonight. Going to leave the game in sleep mode overnight again to see if they patched the wet suit thing.

The minimap thing is interesting. I turned that off long ago so I could get better shots of my animals doing weird things.

There's an actual meteor shower in my town tonight. I had a few random stars last night, shortly after starting my NH day (night?). Weird to see stars at 7:01pm when it's still so light. Today (tonight?) Isabelle announced it, and Celeste is wandering around. So I'm steering clear of the water tonight.

^the patch notes for 1.3.1 said it fixed the thinking glitch, the glitch where the wetsuit wouldn't appear in the store sometimes, the glitch where there was an invisible wall blocking you from passing over zen bridges built on the third level of town, and a glitch I never heard about where hermit crabs would spawn in weird non-beach places

I didn't see anything about the weird spawning glitch with pascal. I've only seen pics and videos on japanese twitter so no sure about the details of the glitch since I can't read anything, but it involves pascal standing completely still either just under the water or up high above the water instead of... not doing that

Chiyoko: Ooh, the hermit crab thing happened to me last night! I've got a short video of running by the airport, hearing it jump up, and just seeing it despawn in this tiny triangle of sand between the dock and rocks.

If you got the trophies during the spring Fishing Tourney, you won't get them during the summer one. Got suspicious when C.J. didn't remark me getting 100 points when I was pretty sure I already had (was at 129 when I checked, with 0 points from the last Tourney). No bronze trophy today. Not sure if points carry over, but suspect they do because the exchange points for swag option was there even before I entered my first round.

The number of miles awarded when you get stamps for doing the Fishing Tourney depend on what order you do them. Spring gave me 300 (title keywords are Spring-Born and Free Spirit), summer 500 (Summer-Born and Chiller). But when I did the Tourney using my 2nd character, she got 300 for her first stamp. The same thing happens with planting various fruit trees and using the construction app.

K.K. didn't waste my Friday, but was moved to Sunday, which makes better sense.

I had Gullivarrr visit Friday. You need a wet suit to help him, and you get pirate stuff in return. I used all 3 of my established characters and have so far received a barrel, wall, and pants. Loving the wall and barrel (no variants, not customizable). Lucked out big time because all 3 characters found it first dive. (Could have been worse; had my worst scallop day yet with having to dive like 100 times before I finally found one. Usually find one within 5 dives. But found a bunch of Gigas giant clams and an isopod among other things, so turned out pretty good. No pearls, of course.)

Pascal gave me a mermaid princess dress. It's light blue. He gave a pink one on my 2nd island, so it looks like some of the clothing he gives have variants. (The mermaid tiara doesn't.)

I'm not sure when they implemented this, but this is pretty new: having Blathers check a fake artwork will unlock the Nook Goal Faked Out! with the keywords Plausible and Fake, plus 500 miles. This definitely wasn't available when Redd was first introduced, and I think the last time I had Blathers check a fake was sometime in June, but am not sure. Only had him check a famous painting sent by Flip.

Just found out aquariums have a light switch! Not the large ones like sharks or the open-topped ones or the ones that have a strap attached. Just the ones that look like fish tanks. So lovely...

Also found out mitten crabs are interactable. They hold up their claws. Sadly snow crabs don't do anything. They're so big in those little trays that I expected them to crawl out or something.

Are you sure you've had Blathers check a fake? Wart Jr. sent me a fake at the end of May and I got the Nook Miles then.

also there are other intractable sea creatures! the gazami crab swims around a bit, the horseshoe crab (known for getting stuck on their backs) flips itself over, and the mantis shrimp (which can punch as hard as a bullet and are known to destroy their tanks) cracks the tank glass

Yup, I've had Blathers check fakes on both my islands, especially in the early days. My main character got some fakes from Kyle, too, but she does not have that stamp.

Every now and then I forget what makes a fake a fake, and instead of doing the easy thing and looking it up, I just go and buy it (stupid amazing painting), then Blathers chews me out, but I haven't gotten that stamp until showing him Flip's fake famous painting (talking about the 2nd island where I've been farming Redd for about 5 or 6 weeks now). That's why it was such a surprise to me when I got that stamp.

So what the heck? One island I can understand, but both?!

I don't know if this has been said, but it seems like the frequency for shooting stars has increased? I got a heavy shower and then for two consecutive days after that, I saw multiple groups of shooting stars throughout the night. This heavy shower was the first I've seen since I began playing in March.

Not sure if anyone's said this already, but I've heard it reported that the visitor appearance schedules have been adjusted, and my own in-game experience seems to tally with that. Leif, Saharah and Kicks now no longer appear every week, and every visitor is guaranteed to appear at least once every other week.
