for all of my fellow grown gamers, what was your first animal crossing game as a kid? did you find animal crossing as a kid or did yoh come up on it as an adult? I have to say for me, it's only been about 5 years (I'm turning 25 in september) and I started with New Leaf.
I started with Animal Crossing: Wild World on the DS when I was in my early 20s. I knew of the original, which released in Japan in 2001 and North America in 2002, but we didn't get it in the UK until 2004, so I initially skipped it and started with a US-import copy of ACWW, instead.
I've played, or at least tried, every game in the series except for Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival (which I bought when it came down to about £7 including postage, just to get a bunch of cheap Amiibo figures and cards, and never had any interest in playing ), and it's been fun to see how it's evolved over time!
Animal Crossing for the GameCube was my first ever game! Man how time flies. I have all the AC games, but it wasn’t until about a year ago that I decided to “seriously” play Animal Crossing by restarting my New Leaf town. And by seriously playing I mean actually trying to pay off my debt, collecting everything, having a coherent lookin house that wasn’t just random furniture. I’m mega excited for New Horizon now since I’ll be focused on completing things from the very start. Let’s see if I can keep up a daily playing streak.
I'm so excited for New Horizons since I haven't had a 3ds to play new leaf on for the last couple of years. can't wait to dive right in and become super obsessed with this and making an island
My first Animal Crossing game was the GameCube version. I ended up picking it up along with a bunch of other games from GameStop in 2012 (I was 18 at the time) since I had just bought a GC and most of the games were dirt cheap at the time. I didn't think much about the game at the time, but the second I started playing it I was hooked. It wasn't very long before I had bought Wild World and a Wii for City Folk as well as put in a preorder for New Leaf. I am really looking forward to New Horizons, but unfortunately due to money issues I will not be able to get a Switch and NH at launch. Hopefully I will be able to get them soon after though, since it looks amazing so far!

My first game was also the GameCube version! I read about it in Nintendo Power and the whole concept scared me -- I knew I would become obsessed! I told my husband I was nt interested in it. He didn't listen. He gave it to me as a Christmas present. And I was right -- I spent the entire holiday on a beanbag chair in front of the screen, playing AC. I got my friends hooked and we exchanged save cartridges to visit each other's towns. Can't say I didn't warn him!
And it's been just as bad with every other version! I also got my kids hooked on New Leaf, and they will be getting their own New Horizons games too. It's been nearly 20 years of an obsession and every time dear hubby even thinks of opening his mouth to complain, I yell at him "this is all your fault! I told you not to get it!!"

I first got the Gamecube Animal Crossing when I was 7 back in 2005, and I've been playing one game or another almost every day since then, and it's been almost 15 years
Can't say I spent very much time with Wild World (wasn't as into portable consoles at the time, and nowadays it's kinda hard to go back to/pick up again), but I even enjoyed it for around a year or so, and still have that savings
I still have my 15 year old AC:GC saving, and my 10 year old Animal Forest e+ saving

Nerdy furry trash queen, feel free to PT!
Animal Crossing for the GameCube was my first Animal Crossing game. A friend of mine told me about how great it was so I thought I’d give it a try. Was happy that I did!
I even got my wife into Animal Crossing so both of us are awaiting the release of New Horizons. We can’t wait!

Wild World was my first AC game which I started playing around 13 years ago. I played the GC version shortly thereafter and every mainline game since (no spinoffs...). I was talked into it by a friend as it didn't pique my interest when I first heard about it. Boy was I wrong!

My childhood friend had a gamecube so that was my first time playing AC. I didn't have my own game until my parents got me Wild World for my DS when I was around 10. I use my boyfriends 3DS to get back into new leaf, and I can't wait for new horizons tomorrow

GameCube. I had that coming Winter 2002 GameCube/GBA book they gave out for free, I think I got it at GameStop, and saw the pics of the game in there and it looked so cool and those commercials in the tv. I rented it from Hollywood Video, in Feb 2003, then my mom got it for me with part of her tax refund in March 2003 lol. I was still 10 years old at that point.
Wild World was my first one, when I was 10. An advertisement for it was in the box of Pokemon Pearl with the manual and the health and safety manual. I thought it looked fun

Ohhh seabass.... not again! >:[
Gamecube was the first version I played. (I'm old. That's all I'll say about my age lol)
I'm in the minority in that: I LOVE timetraveling. It's so much fun! I never bothered keeping my gamecube's time current. I would play for hours then when I got bored of that current day I'd time travel 1 day forward, play for hours, then repeat the cycle. Played it for years on end that way. I forget what year I ended on in-game hahah.
I still have fond memories of resetti throwing tantrums over me resetting too many times for his taste. hahahah. silly resetti! Your grumpy mole anger makes me giggle even to this day,
