So I digitally purchased the game through the AUS E-shop hoping that i would possibly be able to play a couple hours early like i did for pokemon swsh. My online clock and main nintendo account are located in the US so ive been pretty curious how this may effect my seasons. I wonder on if theyre going to base the seasonal shifts on the regional exclusive game purchases or allows you to set your location yourself. I feel like itll be based of the internet clock but with how they are handling online cloud saves and game transfers for it, its anyones guess at this point.

Anyone else have some thoughts on this?

Don't they distribute in South America? If so, they would have to include an option to select your hemisphere for at least that region, since it lies on both sides of the equator.

I could always be wrong, but I don't think this is something to be worried about. people move to new countries, they travel, they go to study abroad, some southern hemisphere people might just prefer having the game in "classic mode", there are lots of reasons someone would want to change time zones and hemispheres. I also agree with what 707penguin said

I’m in AUS also  but originally from the U.K. and I’ll be going back there. I like to keep my seasons in line with the seasons in the U.K. as that’s what I’m most familiar with so it will be interesting to see how it works definitely. I’m hoping I can just pick my hemisphere myself at the start of the game.

I can see two plausible scenarios. The first is that it'll align with the region or nation your console was set up in. The second is that it'll align with your Nintendo Network ID and whatever nation you set that up in.
