I don’t know why but I always struggle to find cotton. I don’t know if it’s my game or if the games just rigged that way, but I literally have an abundance of every other resource other than cotton. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a certain way to get it or increase my chances of getting it? Cause completing animal requests just doesn’t seem to be doing it. -.-

every species of villager has a primary material they will always give every time they give you stuff. pigs, mice, penguins, hippos, lions and goats all give cotton. try keeping a few of those animals in your campsite for a while

I had no idea it was species based. I thought maybe it was related to their theme. Either way, I always just keep whoever I like at camp and I get a poopton of one material usually. Right now I have so much wood. Previously it was so much cotton.

Not sure how long you've been playing (or when youre rewarded with them), but keep an eye out for treasure maps that give out cotton.

I'd also add a lot of friends and look for people selling cotton in their Market Boxes.
