Digital! since I'll be playing everyday, I don't want to risk losing the cartridge...like I did with my New leaf copy

I'm going digital because of ease of access.

Let's say I want to play it for 20 minutes or 30 minutes a day, it's a pain to have to pop the cart in and out in between playing other games.

Also it ensures wherever my switch goes I have it ready to play.

Although my gf prefers physical versions so between us I get the best of both worlds. Admiring the box art, and having a copy if something where to happen to my digital copy... which shouldn't really happen anyway.

I would prefer a digital copy. I like having my games on my switch, it's more convenient for me.

Normally I don't mind, BUT, since it's animal crossing and I have all the other boxes I'll be joining the physical bandwagon.

Physical, I don't expect to ever lose the cartridge since I rarely undock my Switch and I don't want to have to buy an even bigger SD card just to download the game.

I would prefer to download it, but I think I'm almost out of space right now.  Will most likely be getting a physical copy unless I can bear to part with some other games already downloaded XD

Personally, I am a fan of physical copies of anything, no matter the medium. Books, movies, games, you name it, I love the ability to hold it. Also, specifically in this case it is beneficial for me to have the physical copy because I have two switches. One I got for Christmas, and the special edition AC themed one. So I can have two islands even though I only paid once. (Although, if we're being honest here... I'd rather have the save files function as the GC where it's on a memory card, or the DS family where it is stored on the game cartridge itself. The idea of the island being tied directly to the system makes me extremely uncomfortable.)

I preordered a physical copy. I always prefer a physical copy just to have it. Plus it saves on storage space.

It depends on the individual but definitely digital for me for the reason below :-

- Don't have to take out my BOTW game cart

- No need to give my $ directly to the local distributor for physical ( the $ goes to nintendo japan directly )

- No time and transport $ wasted for queuing at retail game shop on day 1 release

- Lastly , avoiding the release date crowd for the V word

Definitely physical. I don't want to have to deal with randomly losing the game to a broken switch. Also want to look at the case!

I'll likely get the physical version, mainly because I'm hurting for digital space at the moment.

I’ve seen people say you can have one digital copy on multiple Switches... how is that possible? We’ll have four Switches when it comes out (one for each of us) but if I don’t have to buy four digital copies of the game, I’m all for it!

I still haven't decided which to get, but it's seeming like the only reason I'd have to get a digital copy is that I'd be able to play the game half a day earlier.

I was going to get a digital copy so I could play it as soon as it dropped. But once I realized the GameStop down the road is doing a "midnight release" for it at 10pm on the 19th, I decided to just go with physical. It can sit on my shelf with all my other Animal Crossing games--all the way back to the gamecube days!

I am going physical. I like having the actual game carts, although I do digital when there are good deals (I got Mario Kart 8 on Switch with a $20 off discount on digital, so good deal)

I myself prefer the hard copy due to issues I had with digital For instance I had an older 3DSXL it kept black screening me during play So I bought a new 3DSXL to transfer my digital downloads of Animal Crossing, Disneys Magical World And Fantasy Life As you know you put a lot of hours in these games So I transferred to new system in my game management it showed an x on these games they were not on my home page either it took two weeks being on phone with Nintendo for over an hour, several times and e-mail[tickets] to them it was a big pain waiting while they figured out what was going on they did finally get me my games but I said I will never download another game unless it is a doodle game like bookworm, tetris etc, And you can not re-sell your downloaded games I have lost a lot of money on different Nintendo systems  which me and my husband have bought from eshop hubby will buy a 70 dollar game and not like it so when he buys the physical ones at least he can trade or resell it NO MORE DOWNLOADS FOR ME

I've bought most of my games physically, and they are slightly cheaper compared to digital copies, but I'm tempted to buy digital this time just for storage reasons (lack of), and it won't get lost. NH will be a game that I play daily, so having it on my system all the time would be very convenient. I'll miss having a physical case, but I think I'll be buying digitally!

I’ll have the benefits of both. My fiancé’s downloaded his copy on his switch already so he’ll have the digital version, and I’m going to grab the physical copy. I can play with him until I grab the physical and then we’ll always have a physical copy should anything ever happen to the digital version.

Animal Crossing, being an "hour a day every day" sort of game, is probably the only game I see really being worth digital. But on principle I only buy physical except for games on Steam or Gog, to the point where I'll import Switch games from Asia that only get English physical releases in Asia (Phoenix Wright, World of Final Fantasy, Okami, Final Fantasy 7/8, etc). Eventually you'll lose access to digital games forever once something happens to your console if the service is discontinued (which is an even bigger issue for Nintendo, since they've already taken down the Wii/DS stores). I'll get used to swapping carts, and if it gets to be too much of a hassle I might buy a second copy digitally, but my main copy is definitely physical.
