I forget who it was I was talking about this with, but a while back I was discussing with someone on here how english and japanese animalese sounds different. english animalese is generated by reading out the english letters very fast, and japanese animalese does something similar with japanese characters

anyways, with the new commercial that came out, I was able to make a video directly comparing the two if anybody is interested

Japanese animalese might sound strange if you don't know the language. The speech synthesis does the same thing as the English version. You can even hear words and sometimes entire phrases.

^I don't speak a lick of japanese and I don't really watch a whole lot of anime, but I've watched enough subtitled anime that the japanese animalese definitely sounds recognizably japanese to me. I linked the japanese video to a friend in the middle of the night and wrote "don't worry about turning on the volume, it's all japanese" before realizing wait, it's not even any human language at all

I don't know if anybody else experiences this, but whenever I watch fan made videos where they write their own text and overlay random animalese, it immediately sounds wrong to me because the animalese isn't matching the text. obviously I don't expect random people to recreate the proper animalese for their 30 second joke videos, but still

Nintendo really did a superb job at making animalese. The synthesizer even works if you edit the dialogue, although that's the GameCube version.

I found a few animalese generators like this one a while back. They aren't as good as Nintendo's, but are neat to toy around with.

And I thought I was the only one. Watching fan videos with text that doesn't match the animalese is like seeing subtitles that don't match the language. Kinda confusing.
