One Thing I Pray Is Fixed In The New Game Is Theft & Vandalism. When Making New Friends In New Leaf, I'm Always Super Cautious About Letting Visitors Roam Around My Town Because You Never Know If They Will Chop Trees, Run In Your Hybrid Flowers, Or Steal Something You Left Lying Around. In The New Game I Hope You Can Have Something Like A Checklist Of Everything Your Visitors Picked Up In Your Town So That You Can See What They Took, If Anything, Before They Leave. Also I Hope That You Can Choose Where ALL Your Villagers Will Move To. I HATE When They Go & Place Their Home Right In My Backyard Or In The Middle Of The Road.
What Are The Main Things You Hope Are Different In NH Compared To NL? What Do You Hope They'll Add That Isn't In NL?

I hope they make rare fish and bugs rare again. I caught 54 sharks in my first month of New Leaf. I do not want that to be possible in New Horizons (well, it won't be, since the game comes out in March, but I don't want it to be possible to catch 54 sharks in any month).
I hope that there is a way different way to manage communicating and locating friends who are online. Before we had to open our gates and then people would randomly come in. I couldn’t tell if someone was in game and online unless their gate was open or if we had messages each other IRL. I would love it if there was an alert system of all my friends, notification if they’re online, and confirmation of the gate status (open, closed)

Breesasha - The Switch's firmware was recently updated to include an invites system. I would be very surprised if Animal Crossing: New Horizons doesn't use it!
If you go to your profile-page at the top-left of the Switch's Home Menu, you should be able to see a heading which says "Online Play Invitations", and when accessed it states "If friends invite you to play online with them in applicable software, those invitations will be displayed here.".
It was added at the same time as the Alarm feature, which is now usable with Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training for Nintendo Switch.
I hope there is no grass wear! I don't think there is, since they haven't shown it, but have rather shown a path-making tool. But still, I don't wanna get surprised and find out that the grass does indeed, wear down.
I read something that said that villagers will ask you if you like the location they've chosen for their house, so you can at least say no. What I hope this also means is that they will then say, "OK, where do you want it?" Rather than, "OK, how about this spot?" And so on.

Per this article: And even better, lead developer Aya Kyogoku revealed in an interview with IGN that you’ll be able to customize the placement of the villager tents if you so desire:
However, Kyogoku said before they choose a spot for their home, they’ll check with you to see if it’s okay. If you don’t like where they settle down you can tell them you don’t want to build in that particular spot and move their house location to wherever you see fit.
My real-life time is the same as ACC's
I'd love to be able to do that. I think you could send a letter to a friend in City Folk if you were in their town visiting. I seem to recall that the one and only time my friend was visiting from out of town and brought her Wii with her. Maybe it was only available in local play?
In any event, I think this is a great idea and would love to be able to mail friends letters with surprise gifts.
