I've been told this happens time to time, but this is only the second time I've experienced this. The first was maybe a couple months ago.
Anyway, large ads are appearing at the top and bottom of the pages, so threads appear very low on the screen. I'm currently on Chrome, which is up to date and says Version 76.0.3809.87 (Official Build) (64-bit), on a computer using Windows 10 Home.
Thanks!

Oh god I've just about had it with these ads. It seems no matter what we change, these random malfunctions keep on happening.
If you can get the URL of one or more of the giant ads (right-click -> Copy link address) and post it on the Reporting Non Family-Friendly Ads thread (whose purview has expanded since it was named!), it'll get passed on to jader201 for blocking. But I concede that's not much help if more of them keep popping up.
I'm sorry I don't have a better solution. Believe me, I've tried.

Fix one thing, break another sounds about par when it comes to coding, not that I have much experience in that.
At least the big ads weren't inappropriate in any way, just annoying. I'll be sure to post in that thread in future, but if it's all right, I'll leave this thread open for a bit in case it happens again to someone else.

All right, just made another little tweak. I still have no idea how to stop the huge ads appearing altogether, but now the extra bits should be cut off if they exceed the allocated space. I imagine this will look quite strange but it's better than it was, I think.

Still seeing only giant ads today. I have a 13" macbook pro and literally half the height of my screen is taken up by an ad. I've never seen this happen in all my years on ACC.
I have had Large Ads since the day the Summer games started. It isn't any specific ads, it's them all. Even if the AD is of normal size, the blue space around it remains large. It is a bit annoying as it seems to load normal size, then the whole jumps to fit them in.
Hopefully, this should be fixed by now. We’ve managed to pinpoint the issue and took care of it, so please be on the lookout for any abnormally-sized ads.
Also, thank you all for your help in addressing this issue.

I just got served a giant banner-style ad within a post (not confined to a square-shaped slot on the right side) that I had already read several weeks ago.
Usually I use adblock on my PC, but I turned it off and didn't get the large ads. However, once I used Chrome devtools' "device toolbar" to pose as an iPhone (which also changes user agents), the large ads appeared the next time I loaded a page.
When my browser is a larger size, and not on mobile user agent, the ads seem to behave themselves. Probably intentionally making it harder for developers to notice the ad by making it "mobile only".
I've been using laptop and a desktop and have been having them constantly.

Just about to log off when I noticed this. That's 2 big ads cutting through an old post. Being lazy, I took a snap where I could get both images, but now that I think of it, I should've zoomed out. Whoops, but um, you get the picture.
I'm on Chrome, v.78.0.3904.108 (Official Build) (64-bit), Win10 Home laptop, also up-to-date.
*edit: Probably shouldn't have used the snipper program either, but sorry, I was having trouble with something as simple as this, and it just made me snap.
