I was thinking about ways to help the site be more active again, and I wonder if there's a way to start emailing updates/announcements out to people, using what they registered their accounts with.
If it was the first time, you'd have to ask permission first (by email) to send more updates, but after that it could work.
I get emails regularly from other sites I frequent, and it reminds me to log in and check up on what's going on, especially if the email tells me what's happening.
I don't know the system on ACC or how easy it would be to implement this, but I wonder if an email was sent out like this to everyone if it would help engagement. I'm not sure if this is similar to the RSS feed, but that's still something that you have to go out of your way to find and join rather than be asked to join (maybe an email to ask everyone if they'd like to join the RSS/social media?).

This site is run on a very old software and the code is old. I am not sure if it would be possible to automatically send us email updates. However, I believe this would be beneficial to keeping our users active. Maybe if members are informed that updates are actually happening, they will frequent the site. It os better than just occasionally checking this site to find out that nothing happened.
