I'm going to name my island Alola. Ever since I got Population Growing, I've named my towns after Pokemon regions. Population Growing was Kanto (The island was Johto), Wild World was Hoenn, City Folk was Sinnoh, New Leaf was Isshu (I played White in Japanese...), and even though it's not Animal Crossing, I named my island in Tomodachi Life Kalos. So the next one was Alola.
I had planned to name it after the location in the current book I'm working on, but the delay meant I'd released the book and moved on to another. Except this is an old idea that I've already named a Wild World town after, and I don't really want to reuse it because the series it comes from is now a massively tech-focused fantasy world rather than being a Power Rangers clone with Pokémon-typed powers.
So it's back to that previous series, but unless the limit is increased, Halesowen cannot be the town name used. Fortunately, I do have a name that comes from that series, and I feel it does fit with the island theming. Clifton.
Honestly I'm debating if I want to give my town a kingdom vibe and give it a majestic name like Altair or if I wanna give it a really soft vibe, in which case I'm gonna either name it Rapha (which is Hebrew for healing) or 8bit (cuz it's cute and 8 and 16-bit games give me an oddly similar nostalgic feeling as animal crossing)
Given that it's animal crossing it'll likely end up being the last one cuz I think it's adorable
How freeing it is to pursue wholeness instead of perfection
I recently named my new ACNL town Cinnamon after looking at a load of colour names on some colour palette website I think I might do that for my NH town because I take forever to decide a name so picking a colour or spice or something seems to help my brain-block!
"I know what I'm about, son."
I used the name "Cavaha" for my New Leaf town, in hindsight it sounds like a name that would have been way more suited to an island community.
So I'm not sure what I'll go with, I'll probably have a good think about it during this month....I don't want to end up in that awkward situation....not knowing what to name something and being unable to progress because you want it to be perfect but can't think of anything.
(I think the name I pick might depend on whether "Island" gets attached at the end of your town name)
I always have a chocolate theme when it comes to naming myself in games, and things I own. Ever since my New Leaf town, I've called my town Cocoa. In the previous games I've called myself Choco, but since it seems like we might be able to have ten spaces for letters, I'll probably call myself Chocolate.
