Recently, I've been trying to regain two of my lost villagers (Anchovy and Bunnie for the curious) and have had no luck so far. However, I am curious about certain aspects of this that I would like cleared up.

1. If an old villager moves back but not from a friend's town, will he/she remember me? If Anchovy moves in next week, will it be the same Anchovy that moved out or a totally different one? I did have a friend visit me once a long time ago but don't know if Anchovy and/or Bunnie moved to his town or not.

2.Do villagers move into the same spots every time. I once heard a rumor that villagers will only live in specific spots in a town. If Anchovy were to move back, would he be in the same place that he was before he moved out or a completely different one?

1. No. If it's a random move in, they won't remember you.

2. No, the spot they move into seems to be random. Occasionally, it will be the same spot; Miranda did that when she returned to my town a few years back. But most of the time, they will live in a different place.
