I feel like coding something. Would you suggest a different programming language otherwise?

Both open source and proprietary (big name brands) work.

I'd have to say Python, but that might just be because I seem to be incapable of grasping Javascript.

A little late to the party, but I'd say it depends on what you're using it for.

Javascript is more common in web design, while python tends to be more on the backend with the servers.

If you're learning for a career in cybersecurity, I'd honestly do both, depending on where you want to start. Javascript is one of the biggest areas where exploits occur for websites. Python is immensely useful for automation.

Both have their merits.

I've seen Python used more in my experience- but there are lots of transferable knowledge! Which ever you decide, it's always nice to go and take a peek at what its like in the other environment

Hi, I'm also new to this and really want to learn programming to make it my job. I also got a lot of advice and most of the votes were for Python. And I think this is a great start for learning a programming language. I can also say that I am interested in getting a job as an information technology manager and I found out that this requires not only taking courses but also passing exams to get a Cisco certification. *content removed*
