I know mine does. Whenever we’re not around, he takes the first chance he gets to look for garbage or anything that seems edible, and eats it. And when we get home after seeing the aftermath, he holds his head low, and looks up at us with puppy-dog eyes. (Grrr...)

You get angry at them, sure, but you can’t help but forgive them not long after. How about your’s? Do your dogs do things like that, or maybe worse...?

Yeah, I have a little chihuahua (she weighs about 3 pounds, if I recall correctly?), and she'd do the same exact thing! She'd get into the trash, make a mess, and then look all sheepish the moment I came home. Even if I didn't see the mess yet, she knew it was there, and she knew I wouldn't be happy. Makes you wonder why she did it in the first place

Anyway, I swapped out my trash can for one with a little lid that you open with your foot, and she can't get into it anymore, which solved the problem. She then moved on to my slippers, so I keep them in a spot where she can't reach, and make sure she always has her toys available (not stuck under the sofa) if I'm going to be gone for a bit.

GavinGoneGlobal We did the same thing for my dog, got the trash can with the foot pedal thing. She's about the size of a Chihuahua with a Daushaund body -she's a mix breed- but a few weeks ago she figured out how to open the trash and get stuff out. She's done it in my trash before, how, idk, she's small and the trash can is higher than her, she didn't knock it over.

So I put my crocs on top of the lid to keep it down and if she did manage to get them off, it's not this huge heavy thing that will fall on and hurt her. Well, she found a way to get them off and eat my trash again Gotta think of somethin else now that doesn't involve tying my trash can together since I need to use it too.

I can't even leave the house.  I put her outside and went somewhere, came back home and she was inside the house.  my front door was shredded, the doorframe around it she ate giants chunks of it off, so there's just a giant hole around one side of the door.  out back, she completely broke the door that leads to the garage.  once she was in the garage, she broke the unused, locked doggy door that was on the garage door.  then she broke all the glass vases in the window, killed all the plants in the house, there was glass everywhere.  

not the first time she's broken into the house, but definitely the most destructive.

My dog sounds slightly better about garbage in the house than with you guys, but his big thing is food on the side of the road (which there seems to be a lot of in my city). Generally, it's bread, and generally, he feels it later in the day or the next day and just whines at us all day to go out. But also, I work midnights, and my girlfriend is currently going to College, so there's this lovely intersection at 4pm when I'm asleep and she's out of the house that Dash decides "hey, now would be an excellent time for a walk!" and whines at me until I drag myself out of bed and take him. I love the poor kid, but gosh darn if he isn't just the most annoying pooch sometimes...

My 2 y/o blue heeler use to the first few weeks I got him but he was pretty easy to teach what is and isn't his.

I'm fairly sure my dog just doesn't care. He doesn't even try to get in the cupboard where his food is.

My dog Bella likes feminine products and underwear. She will eat anything in reach though. My two brothers who are still in high chairs feed her so she’s gotten into a really bad habit about people food
