Do u guys think that animal crossing will ever be on the switch some day? I think the chances are kinda slim in my opinion

Of course. It's been nearly ten years since the last console version of Animal Crossing and Nintendo's been making too many spin-offs for them to not have a new main series in development. It'll probably be announced sometime this year.

I prefer playing off a console, so I sure hope so.  And considering how the skipped the Wii U, I would say there is a bigly chance of one coming out.  Also the Switch has two things going for it.  It is a very fresh system that should have a long lifespan and that it is portable to an extent.

I think it will too, but I'm just wondering when they will do it since Pocket Camp just recently came out and they updated New Leaf a while back.  Maybe we'll see something at E3 this year?

They have always announced previous installments at E3 before anything.
The reason for the gaps in creation is because the team who makes Animal Crossing has been making Splatoon 2. They finished Splatoon 2 last year, so I'm sure they've got some ideas in development if not a proper game just now

I have hope for E3 this year!

I honestly wouldn't mind if they just kept updating New Leaf to be honest. I like how they've pushed the big updates in the past that breathed new life into the game.

But that's mostly because I haven't bought a Nintendo Switch yet

The only big thing that has irritated me since the beginning with New Leaf is how dry the villagers come off at times, that the personality types all regurgitate the same lines over and over again with only minor changes. I revisit my towns in Wild World at times for the change in dialogue.

I hope that if Nintendo does release a game for the switch they do work on dialogue and interactions with villagers.

That's part of my issue with Pocket Camp. The villager interactions are so formulaic and bland. It's not a world, just a tap game with time restrictions and limitations.

I agree about the personalities.  There is a lot of great things they have created or built upon in the series sense Population Growing.  Part of it is them over kid-ifying the game & removing the edges from the more harsh personalities.  But part like you said is everyone in a certain type has a set of speech they have with maybe a few personality quirks here and there.  I'm surprised they haven't done more species related speeches.  Have cats talk about enjoying the sun or horses running around at the very least.  Hopefully the next game they do this.  Just because Octavian & Curt as both Grumps, doesn't mean that a Octopus & Bear have a lot in common.

I certainly hope they do.  The one thing I loved about the Wii was Wi-Fi ing with my friends and the Wii speak.
I hate the tip tap typing and rarely Wi-Fi anymore. I become down right anti-social.

In fact I have no plans to buy the Switch unless they do. AC is the only game I really play.

huh, i thought it had already been mentioned that it would, but i hope so aswell and yeah, it would be stupid to end it at New Leaf, but how will they solve the pattern use? i guess it will require the use of the controllers on the side like going back to GameCube in how we play, but kind of like a remake?

^the switch actually does have a touch screen, just very few games use it right now since it can only be accessed in handheld mode, and not everyone even knows about it. I had no idea myself at first.

the DS and 3DS have an older style touchscreen that only recognizes one touch point at a time, but is compatible with anything you want to use as a stylus. the switch has a more modern touchscreen (like what most smartphones and tablets have these days) that recognizes multiple touch points at once, but you need to use your finger or a special type of stylus to work it.

so I guess look forward to potentially making patterns with your fingers and smartphone style keyboards

(I'm assuming that's what you meant by "how will they solve the pattern use". maybe I'm wrong )

Yes, it definately has a touch screen, I used it in breath of the wild a few times, I'm pretty sure anyway.

Specifically, though, we were able to make patterns on the gamecube version, so I dont think it would be too difficult, just 'eh'.

If people are only "pretty sure" a device has a touch screen, it probably isn't being implemented very well.
I dunno. I haven't bought a switch yet but probably will later this year. Waiting for the price to go down.

THIS!

I did enjoy some of the harsher remarks from the villagers in earlier installments. It was funny to me having this cute little animal insult me

The Switch does have a touch screen! This link will take you to a tutorial on how to use the touch screen:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiMGIZ7_GoM.

Sorry, I don't know how to make an actual link.

No games yet that utilizes the touch screen, but there is the potential there for new games to make use of it.

There are a few! Voez, for example. No first-party games, though, I'll grant you.

The labo, splatoon 2, the e-shop and home menu use it, zelda to an extent, i'm sure theres others, its just i dont have many games

Also maybe it would be easier to utilize it if nintendo made AC:switch similar to the gamecube or wii version where you have to press buttons and the menus pop up- that way it keeps its portabilty.

I just wish we had something like streetpass?

"I honestly wouldn't mind if they just kept updating New Leaf to be honest."
i dont like that idea, new leaf was one of the low points in the series imo (still good, just not as good as CF or GC imo) and nintendo most likely wants to move on.

i really hope its a new game too, with new villagers, items, clothes, all of it. and if its a port (like how CF was to WW) they better add lots of new features, modes, items, and other stuff to make it worth 60 dollars honestly.

what if we could do 6 player multiplayer? i mean, i bet the switch could, or give the island some new mini games, new bugs and fish (obviously) and certainly some more diving things to catch, and maybe the net like in PC, you throw it, but you gotta wait about 1 or 2 real life hours (another thing to emphasize the whole animal crossing takes place in real time type thing) and ledges, the cliffs from GC and CF, i honestly REALLY miss those, and add some of the stores from mainstreet (or just get rid of it, i never liked it) to the main map, idk, it gives your town more personality when you have the museum, and tom nooks shop also in a random location in town, instead of just in a shopping strip, oh, i started to ramble, my bad

but yeah, i feel like they should bring some things back, and improve on the things new leaf added, as well as the things they might bring back, aye? but that might just be me.

In short, yes I do definitely think that at some point they will release AC for the switch. It just makes sense. I can’t see them releasing a new console and then not bothering to release one of their most popular franchises on it.

Based on Nintendo's patterns, I beleive they will release a version for the switch. Mario was turned into a moblie game, then Mario Odyssey came out. There's a mobile for Pokémon, so I think there are Pokémon games for the switch. There may be a Fire Emblem game released for Switch if not already -I don't own the Switch. I think a game will be announced around the one year anniversary of the Switch. Nintendo wouldnt waste their time making a mobile game if they weren't trying to keep AC players and attract new ones.
