I started a new town in early November and only now got the motivation to begin it. The problem is, I'd feel more like making it in rainy weather (I prefer rainy weather because it's easier for me to concentrate in this), so it's set in rainy season, but the only times it rains is light, for around two to three hours in a group and it stops and might happen again for some hours later. I wanted to know if anyone knows what the likelihood of rain(storms) is in the game, like if some days have heavy rain and others all clear the whole time, or if it's random.
If nobody knows, I might make something by checking the rain through a year in the game, to see when the rain was most likely, but if anyone knows then go ahead and post this.
I don't know how often thunderstorms happen, but I know an easy(ish) way to find one. the weather that appears on your title screen when you load up the game will always appear on that day and time. to find the weather you want at the time of day you want, what you have to do is this:
1) set your system clock to the time you want 2) check the title screen 3) (if it's not the weather you like) exit and change the system calendar one day forward. 4) check the title screen
repeat steps 3 and 4 until you find the weather you like, then record the date and time somewhere where you'll remember it. when you want to go back to that weather, just TT to that date and time and it will be there. alternatively for step 3 you can go forward hour-by-hour, depending on what you're looking for.
the weather in everyone's game is different, but will always be the same as it was before when you TT around in your own game. the only days I can confirm the weather are sunny days on holidays and the day you start a new player character, and heavy snow on November 10th (the day before snow appears on the ground)

The heavy snow is December 10 I think, but thanks for this.
I checked around on a few random days and I found June 20 which has light rain through the day without stopping at random times, which works for me, but the only day I found out of about 14 random ones in March to September.
Usually on a day with occasional rain, I skip by 2 hours. Starting on the hour you choose to start, you look at the sky and if you know your weather, you can tell if it will or won't rain in the next hour. Skip past the hour if it won't rain and do the same until it does, or if it does rain on the next hour then you can skip 1 hour ahead. It's easier and saves up your time, too.
Well it's easier for me, December 15 2017 is an all-snow day. I played this date since late October for realism (my town is based on the Arctic, where the Chukotka area is), and it had a heavy rainstorm on September 28 2017 lasting all day, which I played for a few days too. I might go back there some time if I need to. My second town, Nazran (in the North Caucasus but not based on the real town), is flipped and represents Australian seasons (or so I found out), and it's in summer. 20 June is the rainiest day so far.
