I don't know if it's because pocket camp just came out, or if I overplayed NL this summer, but I just cannot get myself to want to play it recently. It's weird because I was really excited to play for winter and Christmas and such, but I just can't get myself to play without it seeming like a chore.
Can anyone relate??

I've found that taking occasional breaks from NL renews my interest and creativity when I return. I've set it aside for months at a time to focus on other hobbies such as writing or reading. When I load my town up after a lengthy absence it feels quite welcoming and I easily become engrossed in improving my landscaping, working towards another Phineas badge, getting reacquainted with my villagers, etc.
At present, I've decided to pause my main town while I choose a map for a new second town. I feel this will keep me engaged in the game as I wait for February 25th to arrive (when the snow melts away and grass regrows), because I plan on redoing a large section of Vernon but would enjoy doing so more in springtime. The starkness of winter isn't motivating as far as landscape design, IMO.
I'm still playing ACNL but dropped to just my main town. The rest of towns are frozen. I'm enjoying making snowpeople and villagers getting excited for Toy Day.
I play for about an hour and than I move on to other games. There are a lot of new games out that I need to play and enjoying them. Tried Pocket Camp and gave up when it kept freezing. More freezing than playing wasn't worth my time.
I'm very into New Leaf lately, but like everyone else has already said, the interest comes and goes in spurts. I don't think that there's anything wrong with that, either! Some players enjoy picking up the game for hours every day while others only want to escape to their towns once a month. There's no wrong way to play, and since the point of the game is to relax and have fun, the player should play as often as it is fun for them.
I bought a third copy of New Leaf in the summer. I originally used it to time travel to events so I could complete the catalog in my other towns. After that, I erased the new town and tried to start over. I couldn't do it. I'm just bored and tired of the same conversations, the same furniture and clothes, the same events, etc. I sold the third copy. I'll come back in a year or so.
I love you, Bailey.

It does get repepative occasionally for me. I recently purchased a second copy and it has been great thankfully~
In my main town I peep my head in once in a while to make sure no one is moving (or the villagers I don't want ARE moving)
and in my second town I play it completely opposite of my main. It's purposely not a nice looking town and I play with different furniture (My favorite thing is decorating homes) If upgrades happen, great, if not *shrugs* I do whatever and it's fun.
What AC:WW taught me: Always carry a clean cup with you~
Relieved to hear that I'm not alone. I'm thinking of just time traveling back to December next time I actually feel like playing, since I really wanted to play in the wintertime. I'm feeling the same way for gamecube unfortunately :/

Yeah, I'm in a bit of a New Leaf mini-slump. I'm still playing every day, but it's not grabbing my interest as much in the past few weeks. I've actually been into City Folk more lately, believe it or not.

the problem with acnl is its the most grindey out of all the games. everything takes so long to build, everything costs tons of money, everything requires unlocking something or waiting for it to be suggested so you can get it. everything just feels out of reach compared to the last games.
yea but not because of new leaf, I have to cycle my games, spend time on the others Couple of months here on one, then some months on another, but I'm coming back soon (coming from Story of Seasons Trio of Towns) That game was *is* some serious work

I haven't played since Pokemon: Ultra Sun and Moon came out. I was going to check in today, but I seemed to have misplaced my cartridge So that's kind of lame..
If you give a Mouse a cookie, she's going to ask for a glass of milk
When you give her the milk, she'll probably ask you
for a straw. When she's finished, she'll ask for a napkin
