I'm honestly thinking of becoming a CO, currently I work in the medical field. CNA for about 8 months and soon to be a Clinical Assistant. I love what I do but just can't bring myself to spend the money on more schooling to go get my RN. I've signed up for the Corrections Officer civil service exam(I know big difference), although it takes a year or so to even start the process once I take the test. For where in NY I'm located though the pay is good and the benefits and retirement aren't bad either. Were you thinking of becoming a Police Officer?

I am a dispatcher.. we take 911 and non emergency calls for city police, county police, fire, and medical. We are also trained to dispatch for all agencies. If you ever want to talk feel free to send me a pm!

I’m here in MD and would like to get a graduate degree in forensic psychology. Problem is, no universities near me offer that course of study; just a major in Psychology and minor in criminal science. I have to keep researching to find out how I’m going to go about this, but I still have a year or so until I have to commit to a specific field in psychology.
In general, the aspects of profiling, research, and applying research appeal to me much more than actually being out in the field as a police officer would. I have massive respect for those who are officers or otherwise do the more direct work, but in terms of a career, I would be very happy— and comfortable— doing some sort of job related to research.
