I played it a few times, There is Gold, Silver, Ruby, and Sapphire. I do it usually daily. So, I will see how it works out, but I recieved far less if I only found gold and silver than the time I found ruby and sapphire.
I've noticed when I use leaf tickets I get all gold and silver, but when I use friends to get in, I usually only get 1-3 gold and silver. I haven't studied it closely, but I THINK ruby and sapphire (and I imagine emerald and amethyst if those are in there) give you just bells, silver gives you the reward advertised, and gold gives you both the reward and the bells. that's just how it seems like it works out whenever I go in there, but again I'm not 100% sure.

How about this! In the past few days, let's record what we get from the quarry. Make notes of what we retrieve and rewards. I'll see if there is more info about this somewhere else if that is the case or if someone figure it out. Only record what you receive without using leaf tickets. Since leaf tickets seem to effect the results. I never used leaf tickets on this event.
Before we could get candy canes at the quarry, I made notes of what I found, and what the resulting prizes were. I tried to make the numbers work, but my end conclusion was that it must be random, because no tweaking of the values would give consistent end results. In those olden days, I would find gold, silver, ruby and sapphire, nothing else.
I've been to the quarry since the candy canes arrived: three times without paying with Leaf Tickets, and once with paying. I ONLY found silver and gold, nothing else. The first strike always gave silver. I've made notes of just two forays, but was intending to keep on doing that, to find out whether for candy canes there could possibly be a pattern.
So far I have: sgggg 600 bells, 34 candy canes, payed with leaf tickets sssss 250 bells, 20 candy canes, was helped by friends
This may coincidentally be the extremes, assuming the first is always silver. However, it's a bit early to draw any conclusions from just two results. The other two times I received 28 and 30 candy canes, but I don't know how much silver and gold I had.
Not that any of this really matters, because you can't influence which minerals you will find.
Alright let me organize todays data. I don't think number of friends have an effect, but let's keep it in record anyway. Furthermore, to keep the data consistent.
Edit 2:
I did some research. So far the only minerals you can fine soo far are Gold Silver Ruby and Sapphire.
I like his system. Use s=silver, g= gold, r=ruby, b=sapphire.
Name -# friends- Minerals-Bell reward= Material Reward -
Chiyoko -9- _gggss_ 400b = 26cc
AnnetteSR -13- _gggss_ 500b = 30cc
ArisBtiger -7- _ggsss_ 400b = 26cc
Wertygert0123 -20-_gggss_ 500b = 30cc
Hmmm judging by the data. It's too early to ride on the one set of data. So far, friends do seem to have an effect. Let's wait for another day's data or two.
"AnnetteSR is there a way I can get the number of people who help you yesterday?"
I was going to say "no" because I hadn't made a note of that, but when I looked through my pictures, I found I had made a picture of it. 23 people helped me to get into the quarry to get the 250 bells and 20 candy canes.
This was the last time I'm going for candy canes in the quarry, I only need 39 more and I can easily get those from fulfilling requests. Next, (tomorrow) I'm going for cool essence, to level up the rock stage and merry-go-round. Would anyone like to see those statistics, or are we only interested in candy canes here?
Hmmm.... that might throw off the results but I will add it. The candy cane ones seems to all have some sort of pattern. Stay with me as i organize all the results in a certain manner to easily see the patterns
REWARD GROUP 5 Wertygert0123 -9-_ggggs_ 550b = 32cc
RESULTS NON CANDY CANE Wertygert0123 -23-_ssbbr_ 1250b = 6 paper
I can draw a few theories, but they will only be theories without more data to verify
Theory means an educated guess and can be proven right or wrong once more results has been established. (for the people who don't know what a theory is. This doesn't mean the results are facts.)
THEORY:
1. Seems like getting the candy cane material, you can only find gold and silver. No other minerals are present. (based on no one getting ruby or sapphire so far from the results)
2. If you at least get 3 Golds and 2 Silvers it looks like the reward stays at 500b and 30 cc. (only Chiyoko's results contradict this, Though had the same results but had a lesser reward.)
3. Under 3 Golds seems to be the results are randomized.
(more results are required to prove any theory)
4. No one is lucky enough so far to get all 5 g's yet.
