A while ago, I got rid of my character's Gold Shopping Card as I didn't realize how useful it could be at the time. As a way to fix this mistake, I created a second character, did all of Tom Nook's random jobs, and then withdrew 1,000,000 bells from my main account's ABD and deposited it into my secondary account's ABD. I did all of that yesterday but when I logged in today, my secondary character got no letters aside from the HRA's greeting and a letter stating that all exhibits in the museum were complete. Is there a certain amount of time that I have to wait for this to work? I withdrew the money and put it back in but will it work? Thanks in advance!

Perhaps you could try depositing the 1mil in two installments... (i.e. 500k for two days)

For some reason, it just took a few extra days for my alternate character to get the card. I'm not sure what it accomplished as I used it at Gracie Grace with the original player but I'm just glad to have it. Thanks for answering my question though.
