Does anyone have a weird, horrible, or random story about the Club Tortimer island they'd liked to share?  I keep hearing many people had some bad experiences on club tortimer island and I only had good experiences. Which makes me curious about those bad experiences people had.

Well there was a time when this girl from Switzerland kept using emotes to tell me she loved me and spammed them, but on a fishing tour she ran after me and scared every fish away so I bought a wetsuit for the next one, dived into the sea and fished on the beach island instead

As well as this German kid who came on tours with me, then trapped me and thought it would be funny to wreck the island and dig holes around me thinking I couldn't escape but I did and I just went and sat down waiting for him

Those must have been very weird experiences.

ooh, I have a great one. (not great, actually...)
in my first year with the game, I visited the North America island to catch beetles. there was someone already there and they said hi, we sort of chatted a bit but since I was bug-hunting I didn't really say much.
then they started following me around, like... they weren't scaring off the bugs or anything but they also weren't talking--they were just watching me, and it was kinda creepy but since they weren't actually doing anything wrong, I didn't think to leave.
anyway cut to a good while later: we're still the only ones on the island and now I have a respectable haul of big-bell beetles in my inventory and in the storage box... and all of a sudden, this other person, who has been there the whole time, watching me, begins begging for bells.
super-annoying, right? so I go to leave and they won't let me, they just keep opening their inventory whenever I try to talk to Leilani and they keep demanding bells. can't leave, can't go on a tour. can't do anything but cut the connection and lose all my bell bugs.
this jerk watched me catch bugs for like twenty minutes just to make sure they had something to hold hostage in exchange for my money. (who has time for that?????? come on)

I legit did not return to Club Tortimer until the Welcome Amiibo update.

Wow, what a jerk I can't believe someone would do that!! That's also creepy how they just watched you the entire time you were catching beetles. I would hate that if it ever happened to me.

This one happened before the update.
Arrived on the island and 3 players were fighting inside.   When I tried to leave one of the players that the other 2 were fighting with started a tour and refused to stop it.  From what I could figure out it was the player that started the tour that was causing the problem.   Asked him to close the tour or I would hit the switch.  The other 2 players asked to wait because they had bugs to take home.  Waited but the player was mad and refused.  Blocked the player causing the drama and than hit the switch.

Arrived on the island and a player was there.  The player ran around and chopped all the trees.  Tried to use the axe on me and said some horrible things.  He took off and someone arrived.  I felt bad because there were no trees on the island.  

Another weird one was a player dressed in a Sweater Dress and winter boots.  She kept yelling Fashion Police and was upset that I had a ribbon in my hair that she said didn't match my clothing.  It was weird.

Another one was very odd and they wanted to pretend that we were dating.  All of the above got blocked.

Since the update most of the players have been nice.  The leave the island by just clicking a button while inside the hut helps.  Blocking what they are saying also helps.   Wished the leave the island was while you were outside.  Two night ago 2 players were talking about something that wasn't right.  That was the time I wished I could leave while outside.  

the other day i had a 50/50 experience
i was fine overall but was just off.

got to the island, one player there, i started taking the fruits, they then stared taking fruits
at this time they then did everything i was doing.

so in the end they wanted a tour, i got to the bench first and went home

Nothing to major, but it was late at night and I was on the international island to catch bugs to earn myself some bells. Some kid showed up, and I figured she'd catch some too, but no, while I was out in the wetsuit, she chopped down ALL the trees and palms. And when I asked why, she just said "cause I felt like it".

I haven't used Club Tortimer since

This was in my last town and I haven't bothered to get CT back since I restarted but I had someone follow me around the island hitting me with their shovel. Just constantly hitting me. Obviously it didn't hurt me irl but it was super annoying and rude. I felt like I couldn't do anything because they were just always *there* hitting me

I personally envy those mayors with "terrible experiences".
I love it when I encounter trolls and those types of people. It's amusing to watch them attempt to annoy myself or others.

I mainly encounter nice or quiet people.
I have less than a handful of mayors wanting money or harassing me in any way, the typical CT troll.
(I was desperate and even wore a crown to CT and no one bothered me about it!!!!)

I will say this though: Going to an island, then turning off the wifi to avoid the boatride back home is probably my biggest CT pet peeve. If you're alone on the island, by all means, go crazy!

THAT is my CT horror story that occurs quite frequently. That is the scareist thing to me. Don't do it, RIDE KAPPN'S BOAT!
