So I re-set one of my towns and am trying to building up approval for my mayor by talking to the characters. One asked me to come over so I said yes but was busy doing something else, so after 1 min i tried to leave but the animal would not let me leave! I tried 5 times to exit and they were basically saying I can't go yet. So i had to save and quit. Has this happened to anyone else? This is why I try to avoid talking to residents mostly unless my pockets are full.

Did you ignore your host? I've never had a problem leaving if they hang around too long, but I speak to them several times before that.
