Ok...I enjoy Club Tortimer...most of the time, but today I almost lost my cool

Since I avoid time traveling as much as I can, I traveled to an international island this morning in hopes of finding an island set at night so I could beetle hunt for bells for PWPs that I'm working on.

I ended up at an island that only had one other person who immediately left once I got there. Once I started hunting...people kept coming in and out of the island literally like every 30 seconds. Every time someone arrives at or leaves the island, the bugs and fish reset, so any time I was approaching a beetle or shark...it would almost always reset because someone was coming or leaving. It was infuriating.

Eventually...I ended up with enough uninterrupted time to accumulate like 5 golden stags, a couple sharks, and other miscellaneous palm tree beetles, my pockets were almost full. Then...oh THEN...someone arrived at the island, immediatley left...and boom...

ERROR

I lost probably about 100k worth of bugs and fish. I know I'm certainly not the first person to deal with something like this...but it was so frustrating I just had to talk it out...lol

Lesson learned: only beetle hunt at my own island

Anyone else have similar stories??

This is the reason I can't understand why Nintendo didn't fix it so we could save while on the island. Nothing worse that getting the Resetti screen while on the island. Even on our personal islands I would have like to see the save feature.

If you find yourself alone on Club Tortimer (and it sounds like you were alone after the first person left), ask to go on a tour, but don't sit down. No one else will be able to enter the island during that time.

Bbykat51: I agree!! I've never understood why we can't save on the island. I feel like there must be a reason, but I cant figure it out.

To be fair, you can really only be mad at yourself. The public islands are just that, public. I never understood why people try to beetle or shark hunt online. It makes no sense.

I don't usually beetle hunt online for that very reason, but as I mentioned, I don't like to TT and I wanted to pay off a PWP that same day. I really was just impatient, so yeah, I agree that I am partially to blame, I just wish the island didn't error out so often and didn't have to refresh anytime someone comes or leaves, but I am aware that there is likely no way around that.

This used to happen to me a lot and Iost something that was hot in my catalogue


Go on a tour - this is the only save I've ever seen and a for dur way to save
Trade with make believe (espically) when MEOW on on the line
This is a instant save

MEOW any the game saves(soft) and they don't repeat themselves
unless u reset
Go to the ABD this is always a for sure thing, and well I've never in any AC game had money disappear unless I reset, battery died, ir the power went out (yea happened in ACGC & ACCF)

I don't have club tortimer but that experience sounds like a terrible one. I sympathize.

The closest I ever got to that was one time I lost over 100,000 worth of bells after I came back from the island because after boyfriend tried to vacuum suck this wasp out of the light fixture and was crawling on the back of his shirt, I swashed mr wasp away and I got chased through my living room by an angry wasp (I hate wasps!!!!!) to where the 3ds fell off the recliner arm and reset the device so hard that It flopped the date and time back to january 1st 2012. And obviously (after putting the time and date back) Resetti was angry about it even though 20 minutes later, my boyfriend killed the wasp by taking his size 14s and stomping on it BECAUSE mr wasp was standing on the floor resting.*rage throws things*
