I also prefer the old summer background. Since I'm sure that some users like the new one and there was clearly a great deal of work put into it, might I suggest a toggle so that each user can choose which design scheme they prefer?

I didn't even realize the difference until I saw this thread. Granted, I am at work so I wasn't paying that close attention. In my opinion, the older one looked nicer. This new one seems slightly more green. I preferred the lighter green, personally.
Edit: I like how the colors change with the season, but I would love an option to choose between the blue, green, or red grass all year. That's totally understandable if not though, because changing with the seasons does make sense!

I think this is because we're doing separate backgrounds for spring and summer now? Since in the games the grass in spring is lighter green while the grass in summer is darker green.
Edit: Since I still had the old spring/summer background saved from when I proposed an idea for AFD earlier this year I decided to mess around in Inspect Element to add it back in to compare with the new one, as well as to show what I would've done as a summer grass background: [image]

Yeah I agree with all of you. I find that the logo and background change was really unnecessary, and don't look as good as the old ones. I don't notice any differences with the clock but I assume it's the removal of the extra green pixels surrounding it so it can be better used in other seasons. Anyways, I think that 707's toggle idea is perfect for those who want to have the old graphics, and with Ayla's idea to just slightly alter the color of the spring graphics for summer.
To be honest, the Fall/Autumn background was just as blurry until two days ago. And it was agreed to allow the backgrounds to be deployed but still work on improving them. In the days since the backgrounds were placed into final testing, a method of improving the sharpness was found and deployed yesterday in time for the fall background today. This method will be used for the other three backgrounds in the next couple of weeks.
