I've been going back and forth from multiplayer islands all day yesterday and today in search for the mermaid sofa (the last piece I need to finish the set) and the beach chair, and I've found that it doesn't usually take long before I end up at a repeat island.

So, my question is, does anyone know how limited the amount if island serves are? Am I wasting my time going back and forth all day?

I don't know whether the number of islands is limited, or if so how many there are, but I remember reading somewhere that if not all the islands are full, any new players who join are always sent to one of those islands instead of creating a new island. So you might be cycling through islands fast enough that you visit all the open islands before there's time for a fourth player to join any of them.
