well, if you have a villagers card, with the welcome amiibo update you should walk around and at some point get a genie lamp. Wisp comes out of the lamp and he tells you you can scan in an amiibo. this works for the animal crossing amiibos (and a select few others for special RVs) and it also works for the cards. if you scan in one of the cards the villager that the card is will appear and you have the option to move them in. (if you have 10 in your town you can just move someone out, it gives you the option.) so i just would move gayle in, and scan in another villager to move them in. then gayle will go immediately in boxes and you can come and get her.  i hope that explanation was easy to understand, im not the best at explaining things lol
