So I'm like a really new member here, and I was referred to this site by one of my TBT friends! Figured I'd sign up, since even though I'm currently an active member of TBT this place seems way more AC oriented lol.
I'm xSuperMario64x, but I commonly go by N64 or just 64. My favorite game is SM64 and the N64 is my favorite console (woulda never guessed ). I like to play AC:GCN and AC:NL a lot, and I also enjoy playing zelda and old videogames. I'm all for retro; old music, clothes, styles, you name it. Some people call me a hippie at heart. I'm also the queen of trolling so watch out lol
Oh, and Leopold is my favorite villager! He's my boo
Any tips would be appreciated since ACC is vastly different than TBT. Thx yall
Hi there and welcome to the site, 64! We hope you have a great time here. Both forums have their advantages/disadvantages, but I think you'll love the Services system here. Any items you want? You don't even have to post on the trading board-just head over to a giveaway/shop first and I almost guarantee they have what you're looking for. The trading boards are also useful though for other reasons. Anyway, I don't wanna go off on a tangent, have a great time here and make sure to send me a PT if you have any questions!
I wouldn't doubt that the people here at ACC are much nicer than the people at TBT! It's like at TBT you either step on or get stepped on in the off-topic threads. Fortunately I'm the former, that's why I'm the queen of trolling
I don't have really high expectations for staff since most of the TBT staff seems to be pretty incompetent (sry, I don't mean to talk bad about someone, but it's true); I'm just hoping that the guys on here are good at what they do and not rude about everything.
I think if I start to get used to site and understand how everything works, I'll start coming here for any in-game stuff I need!
But I do have a question, does this site use on-site currency like TBT does? They use bells which we usually just call tbt, and it has a ridiculously high value of 200k IGB per 1 tbt. I noticed this site has bells but are they used in the same way? I'm guessing not.

We do have the bells as an on-site currency as you noticed. However, they're not really used for anything yet. As part of ACC 2.0, there will be a Bell Shop where you can exchange them for on-site perks but there hasn't been word as far as I know on whether or not you will be able to exchange them with others for in-game items, donating, etc. like on TBT. That being said, within the current state of the site you can collect bells and show your amounts off to your friends. There's even a Top Bells system where you can see your ranking compared to other users!
In response to what you said about the expectations for staff, and I know it's a little biased coming from me...but I recently was given the opportunity to join staff earlier this year and I am so impressed with them. They're really friendly, and so encouraging. I'm super happy to be counted as one of them.
But your concern is definitely understandable. Our staff is by no means perfect, but I generally do trust their judgment when it comes to staffing folks. We pride ourselves in having a family-friendly community, so that really helps staff be a "friendlier face" so to speak - at least, I would think so.
There is a currency, but the shop isn't open yet, to affirm what's been said. So definitely spend some time racking up those Bells so you'll be ready for the opening!
To get Bells, you click on Bell Ads. It's that simple. Sometimes you'll see an advertisement with Tom Nook, Blathers, Wisp, K.K. or Tortimer with an announcement that "You've found ___ Bells!" or something. Tom Nook gives 100, Blathers gives 1000, Wisp gives you an amount that you missed, K.K. gives 10000, and Tortimer gives you...ZE JACKPOT which accumulates from a small percentage of missed Bells by members. You can see it at the top of this page...and just about every page!

Adding on to what Ethan said about ACC being family-friendly, this is strictly enforced. I know some people coming from other forums may think it is okay to use cuss words or even common "harmless" acronyms, so please make sure you are always using child-friendly language here and not linking to sites with any bad words/content on the page.
