...is just a huge pain? GC and WW had great design controls with the control stick, then improving with the control pad, and allowing you to design intricately, dot-by-dot, with little room for error and easy correction. It seems to me the City Folk pattern maker, while generous with offering Pro Designs, suffers from the point-and-click controls. It's not only irritating, but honestly I think it's physically tiring.

Does anyone else have this problem, or am I just doing it wrong?

Having a dot go off at tandem and leaving weird lines where I don't want them is very irritating! At least I can erase that last one ! I learned to use the pointer that makes lines even though I'm using it for dots in intricate areas. It doesn't go bonkers as much. I do love that I can make my own pallets though!

Yep. While I absolutely LOVE this game, it has the issue of making designs extremely painful. I thought making designs in New Leaf was bad due to the poor sensitivity with the touch screen but this is a whole new level.
